The good and the bad

Radders

Shame about tonight, as I was looking forward to the match, but having seen the pitch first hand there was no way that the game could have gone ahead. Why it wasn't called off much earlier god only knows.

However, my evening has just perked up no end with the Champions League result. I'm starting to wish I had put a bet on Arsenal to win nothing about 3 weeks ago when I started telling everyone that Man U would win the FA Cup, Chelsea would knock them out of Europe and then go on to overtake them in the league. 2 out of 3 complete and now Henry seems to be falling apart, Ljungberg looks Conference Quality at best (not necessarily a bad thing ) and Lehmann seems to have learnt all of his magic from Fozzy. Arsenal's first league defeat at the weekend to Newcastle and its all over for them.

BTW I have serious issues with Arsenal if this was not already obvious from the main text in this post!!!!!!!!!!

As a Man U fan I just want to say that Chelsea are awesome!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I didn't want to devalue the Rebels but on a night when I was disappointed about the match being postponed, the Champions League result was one shining light. You are quite right though, this is a Slough forum, so I should add that I am looking forward to supporting the Rebels whenever their next match should now be.

Is that better Gary?!?!?!?!?!

Hello all. I trust you were refunded your money on the door radders? I got to within twenty yards of the gate to be told game was off. Personally I believe it was fate to enable me to watch Chelsea finally beat the Gunners. I was offering work colleagues odd of 5/1 on a Chelsea win. So surprised and happy. But would obviously have preferred to see Berks & Bucks.

The whole fixture situation could now be a bit of mare. This weather is set for the week putting Saturday and Monday in doubt and any chance of a rematch this week is highly questionable.

I remember from the year we were relegated from the Prem, that Harrow would have had to play two games in one day if needed as the season would not be extended.

I remember that... do you also remember Canvey's pile-up a few seasons back when they played almost every day in the last week-and-a-half? And before that, Hornchurch actually DID play twice in one day in the Ryman Div 3. I doubt our situation would get that bad though !

What about being a Slough fan? Who gives a flying ffff about Premier league nonces?

Say's the Liverpool supporter ;-)

I would not be surprised if Eddie treats the B&B cup differently now. We have Molesey on Saturday, Windsor Monday and now Bracknell Wednesday. Do you think the likes of Freddie, Williams, Bartley and Riddell could now be used for the B&B match?

I'm sure Eddie and the boys would like to win the cup but no doubt the priority for the season has to be finishing in the top 6 and as such I would expect the team that plays in the B&B Cup will not be full strength.

Williams, Bartley, Deaner & Miller - Yeah, that looks a really strong team......for the Capital League!

The first team should all play Wednesday, the Game against Windsor is two days before and the next game is three days later, so whats the problem? Nothing!

It's not ideal timing, is it, but surely it comes down to the players' fitness level?

(Assuming that other silly matters, like family/life outside football, do not get in the way...)

Two games in one day IS completely unreasonable, but do they need more than 48 hours to recover from a game?

(Not trying to be mean to the players, just curious! Useful to know players' viewpoint here.)
