Not getting credit we deserve

Recommended Posts

Once again don't believe we are given the credit we deserve after Saturday. This time it's down to Gary Hill leaving. Also see a list of around ten players from the Conference suggested in the NLP for Young Player of the Season. No mention of young Drury. Also believe Andy Ford has done every bit as well as the Chester, Hereford and Exeter managers, considering our resources, but of course won't get a look in for Manager of the Year.

No-one rates us - we don't care - we are Gravesend etc..

We probably peaked a little late this season to get this type of respect.

If we keep the nucleus of the current squad next year we will be higher in the league and have a higher profile from the start.

Personally I don't think there is a better central defender than Chris Moore in the League, with Lee Shearer a close second !

This opinion may be biased, but this season at The Fleet (and the away games I've been to)

Andy Drury has been the most skilful player I've seen this season in the conference

Paul Wilkerson has made the best saves and been the better of the two keepers

Steve McKimm (followed by the whole team in a close 2nd) has been the most spirited player on the pitch

Chris Moore has been by far the best centre-back I have seen since following the fleet

Our fans have been the loudest, home and away.

But little Gravesend never get a mention!

We don't need it...

100% with you on that one, Wobbly. There were some within our throng on Saturday that just did not want to know when the rest of us were giving it the biggun with the 'got no hair' song. It's bad. Yeah, ok, I think everyone had severe reservations at some point at the start of the season, myself included. It's hard not to when you're bottom of the league but, come on, he's shown his worth so a bit of forgive & forget might be in order. Then again, even if he had got us to the play-offs and Trophy final, they'd probably still say he's crap and we should get someone else.

Personally the less credit we get the better as the more credit we get the more chance some of our players may be tempted away and we certainly do not want that. One person that has not recieved any credit in this run has been Ade Pennock who surely must take some of the credit for the improved form since he has become assistant manager.
