Don't know if anyone noticed but in the Leatherhead bar was a board with all the ryman division one south fixtures. About 20 minutes after the game, two people appeared with lots of numbers and starting putting on all the scores. We already knew the Staines one (but cheered anyway)but the few Rebels left in the bar certaintly enjoyed the Windsor result...

Anyway it was only something simple but would be good to have in the Windsor bar. Might make a few people stay a bit longer after the game. I never understand why everyone rushes off anyway - i usually get to chat to opposition fans, the players always come and have a drink afterwards, and well its good to get a few more beers in before the long train journey back to Brighton. It's also good to get Sloughs predicaments into persepective - take Leatherhead, whose chairman walked away a few seasons back and the club nearly going bust. About 20 supporters got together to save the club and in the first season had a weekly budget for the manager and players wages of just £300. They were relegated but the club was saved and its now more community orientated, has a welfare rights drop in centre and stuff like that.

Also got chatting to the bloke who drives up every now and then with his girlfriend from Yeovil to support the Rebels - including Walton and Corinthian away, which shows serious dedication to come back after those performances.

It just goes to prove that even if Deaner were to walk away from the club (Please... either that or he sorts himself out) it can be done.

 

There is hope for us yet.
