Townies day trip to Cheshunt

Recommended Posts

Cheshunt 1 Waltham Forest 1

Along with a lot of town fans I went and watched Cheshunt. I know a lot of Town fans rave about Andrew Lease but didn't quite see him as the new messiah on todays performance. Some good attacking moves from Darrell Cox but Chesunt conceeded a goal to throw away two points.

Did enjoy watching a old EFC favorite in the form of Wayne Brown playing for Waltham Forest in the 5 shirt- still a class player in my book!

Aren't Cheshunt fans boring it was like watching a football match in a mortuary. Where was Fruitbat?

If ever town fans wanted to see how much we've achieved in our first 3 years look at the Cheshunt ground - Least said and all that!

....others of us went to see our old club at the pleasant surroundings of Berkhamsted.

Berkhamsted Town 1 Enfield 1

We were able to see Town 'Old' boy Nicky Morgan put in an impressive performance. Was also impressed by Michael Collier in goal for Enfield, Sid Nelson in Midfield and Jimmy Faulkner, who scored the E's goal, up front. Also the E's No 4, don't know his name. Others were less impressive and there were a couple of players on show for both sides who shouldn't be anywhere near this level of football.

Enfield probably did enough to win with one player missing two glorious chances. Berkhamsted are also struggling towards the bottom of the table and it looks like relegation for the E's now unless they're saved by the end of season reorganisations.

Well, I had a great Saturday pm. Watched the south London travellers get bboted out of the cup (back to your caravans ladies) and then watched a great Grand National. Had a fiver each way on the winner too.

PS, no begging letters please Andy. The winnings were spent on a very pleasent meal out on Saturday evening with Mr and Mrs Southport!
