George has always had the ability to be a top manager, some of the baggage that goes with him is not always appreciated.

eg. according to BBC ceefax he has fallen out with H/church cos he wants time off to go back to USA to coach.

George Borg has today tendered his resignation from Hornchurch Football Club Limited. In a statement made earlier this morning George said;-

''The issue arose over my commitment to coach in America this summer and the Board were reluctant to allow my absence during the close season which I understand the reasons for. In that respect I have today tendered my resignation from all managerial responsibilities.

I would like to thank the fans, staff and players for all the support that they have given me during my stay here and also thank the board for releasing me from my contract.

The season so far has been a good one and the success in the two major cups was enjoyed by all of us and put the club on the map. I hope that the club continue to move forward and enjoy much more success in the future. I have enjoyed my stay working with very commited people and feel that I have taken the club up another step from where it was when I joined''

Gary Calder, the Club Chairman said;-

''I am obviously disappointed but George has made a commitment to America and obviously he wants to honour that commitment. On the other hand we feel that George's absence during close season could be detrimental to the Clubs ambitions in next years restructured leagues. I therefore had no choice but to refuse him permission to go. George has brought much success to our club this year and I thank him and wish him much success in the future. He and his family will always be welcome at our football club and his photograph will remain proudly on the clubhouse wall.

Coach John Lawrence and Physio John Gowans will continue to train the team and I shall work with them in that respect until the end of the season. We shall be advertising for a new Manager in due course''

Wherever George goes & whatever he does he does it well. He is a good motivator, although I know not every one agrees with his methods.

I wish him all the best wherever he goes. I will always have a soft sport for you George, "Because you're Gorgeous"

Wee Georgie appears to have resigned as Manager of Hornchurch in the Ryman Premier, although some are suggesting that he has been sacked. <img src="/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" />

Gary Hill of Daggenham & Redbridge was relased this week. Is there a connection?

How about George Borg bringing a team down for Town to play preseason. Both he and Gary Calder are old friends of the club and you are always certain of a good game.

I would like to add that George Borg was one of the best motivators i've ever seen in football management. If ever a manager could a kick players backsides, to get the best out of them it would be this man.

GOOD LUCK GEORGE WHERE EVER YOU END UP
