Sorry chaps, I have a day job and I'm frantic today, so I'll keep it brief and someone else can have a go.

 

Two goals from Lee Clarke to twice take the lead. A battling, spirited performance against a pacy Ford side. A fierce wind and a heavy pitch prevented it becoming a festival of champagne football.

 

Too many high balls in the first half. We settled and took control in the second when we kept it on the ground. Clark and Seeby did particularly well. 'Sound' but unspectacular performances by the rest, but none lacked effort and work-rate. There is a developing spirit in this team.

 

Steve Castle came on for the last 5 minutes and a volley from the edge of the box in the last moments would have taken over as Goal of the Season from Saturday's effort had it passed inside rather than a whisker outside the post.

We seem to be scoring a few and making chances but still leaking goals at the back. What's that now, 21 league games without a clean sheet? Makes it difficult to win when we give the other team a two goal start every game.

Well we didn't give Ford Mondeo a two goal start, Rob. They came from behind twice, as you would have seen had you made the game! [ <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ]

Jay was there, but keeping the bench warm.

 

I left before he did so I don't know how he got home at the end of the evening. Taxi probably.
