which league are you watching,we are as good as out of it,staines win 4-3 away at bracknell, they were our nearest team to catch, get real,no elongated promotion for the rebels now as even just hyaving to acheive 6th place we cannot do this we continue our freefall which will continue while we are associated with our current owners and management,we deserve better, but we have been saying this for the last 5 seasons.

while I agree with some of your later sentiments, I have to disagree that we are out of it. I have already stressed that I'd rather we were in Staines postion with points on the board, but win our games in hand and we draw level with them. You are also failing to take into account that 7th spot will earn a play off with the 7th placed team in Div 1 North, which may offer a backdoor route into the ryman premier.

BFR, there was a lot of discussion between Chris S and Roy M about the play off place and Roy M seems to think the play off is not actually going to take place. I don't know to be honest, although I did think that when I read that Tomy Kempster webpage it seemed to show that a play off for a final team would be required. Basically, no-one seems to know what the hell is going on.

To be honest SR, I don't see any need myself for any censorship in this thread. The person who started this thread has put down in writing what a lot of people connected to Slough Town will be thinking anyway, even though the less pessimistic among us do not necessarily adhere to all of those views.

If however you are referring to the post immediatley above yours, the person concerned has adhered to Slough Town's self-censorship <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I'm fairly sure I know who posted it as well so will have a quiet word.

Gary, Chris and myself are pretty liberal as to what is allowed on this forum. Nobody likes the censorship that goes on with a large number of message boards at other clubs. I can assure you that we monitor all posts and would take appropriate action where necessary. Ultimately that lies with the discretion of the moderators, and to be honest I would rather you did not challenge us publically to remove certain posts. By all means send a PM and we'd look into it, but on this occasion I'm not taking any action.

We're not out of it but we have lost an awful lot of games, and on paper, does any team who loses (at least) 12 games in a season deserve any sort of promotion?

During our run of six wins on the trot I truly didn't think we'd be here now battling for sixth and seventh spot. We were chasing third place. The team may have beaten the likes of Lewes and Dulwich, but haven't done themselves any favours against the likes of Corinthian Casuals (where, in honesty, we barely deserved one point over the two games, let alone three), Marlow, Bracknell and others. This inconsistency, just like last season (e.g 0-3 at Tilbury anyone?) may just cost us.

Just 'cos I was researching a different post...

Last season in Ryman 1N, Northwood came top having lost 11 games out of 46. Slough lost 10, Hornchurch, 6, and the rest lost 11 or more.

So, I guess it's all relative really...

Inconsistency - the only consistent aspect of Slough Town's recent past.

There is also a certain degree of evidence that we are in a stronger league than we might have been had we stayed in the North. We are on the same points as Boreham Wood (68) but who have played 2 games more than Slough. Rather than sitting in 7th in no mans land, they are in 4th.

Sorry that post was me, but i do fed up with prats like anon who want to blame Deaner for what as happened the last 3 weeks. Anyone who was at Bracknell or Casuals could see it had nothing to do with anything but the players.

deaner has been in charge since we came out of the conference,so yes i blame him fore the state of the club,as for the players who play for the club yes i blame them for not giving enough for this club when they play.learn not to swear, the problem with demoracy is that people can and will say what they like when they want.alas no promo this season

i think anon should shut up and stop going on about who is to blame for the standard of football which is being played at slough why does he not stand up and say who is rather then coming on being anon. Perhaps he would like to go up to deaner and tell him what he thinks.. Its all good and well coming on here and giving it large but actions speak louder than words on here...
