London APSA 0 Enfield Town 3

A much better performance by town today.

 

After 5 minutes or so Lee Smith nipped in and side footed the ball in the net.

 

A lot of off-sides in the first half not sure all were genuine.

 

Second half London APSA came out and put up a fight for about 10 minutes to try to make the game level.

 

Cary Wright won the ball in the 25th or so minute and passed it to Danny Clarke who walked it into the net 0 – 2.

 

5 minutes later Lee Smith picked the ball up near the halfway line and charged at the defence whacking it across the keeper with a goal that was excellently taken. ) -3.

 

Town benefited from some excellent midfield work from Cary Wright and Johnny Ridout. Good to see Bradley Brotherton back from suspension. I’m hoping our strikers get their confidence back soon.

Well I know that you lot get a good view behind the goal but from my vantage at the side I did not see any mistakes by the linesmen.

 

If I thought he had been wrong at any time you would have known.

I can't remember an offside decision that was that 'iffy'.

Here's two for you ,Steph...both in the first half.

 

1.when Brotherton rounded the keeper but over-run it..he took the ball close to the touchline,and the lino wrongly flagged that the ball went over the line.

 

2.After a APSA defender went down injured.the lino flagged for a non-existant off-side....presumably to allow the player treatment.

I cant remember the second as far as the first.

 

Behind the goal you were nearer and I cant argue with you however, putting the bull into touch is not the same as offside.

 

Still wasn't as bad as the kids game I saw today where the ball was next to the lino over the line and there it stopped until one of the kids kicked it back into play.
