Back to winning ways!

Much better performance than tuesday - not hard

Boot first half goal 43 mins, Harris after 70 mins, Egham repied soon after, then OG by Egham number 2

Good vocal support from Egham fans

Egham number 8 ran out of fingers to stick up!!!

From what I have heard, anything could have been better than Tuesday.

Much better performance than from what I have heard about Tuesday night (i didn't see the Corinthian game), especially in the second half. The new signing, Carbon looked like he had quite a lot of potential, but he certainly not a winger.

Very spirited second half, one of the most committed displays of the season, only criticism I have is that the pass across our area from Barrowcliff that lead to their goal.

I have already put up a match report, www.rebelsonline.co.uk.

More of the same please...

Much better. You see what happens when you play football on the deck, work hard and show some commitment. You win.

Let's hope the lesson has been learnt from Tuesday's debacle.

Keep it going boys.

Still seventh two points behind worthing who have three games in hand. Three points behind Staines with a game in hand. It is in our own hands but we cannot afford to slip up any more.

Much, much better. More desire and fight which is really all you could ask for. The back three seemed to work especially when Moller found his feet approaching half time and throughout the second half. Thought Boot was much more active today although he still takes too many touches at time. Harris continued his good form and was probably MOTM while I thought Wilko and Hakki deserve a mention while Carbon had a very promising debut. Awesome fun with the Egham dugout, the dwarf player manager with Haddow's wig on and the BFG physio who got annoyed when I told him to mind his head when he entered the changing room. As someone else said, well done to the Egham fans, some of the best away supporters of the season, although I thought we lacked vocal support in some areas, Chris S, Dom and Gary seemed especially subdued. Well done to BFR, Martin and dad, Liam, Alcove and Russell who helped create a good atmosphere and even got a wave out of Denton. See everyone next weekend, as long as Bigfoot hasn't got me banned.

A good team performance today...good to see the comittment from our lads today ! even when the Egham defence was taking a battering and preventing us from scoring our team perserverved and our supporters keep willing them on !

The Egham Supporters were a credit to their Team, and never stopped supporting them ! even though they are nearly bottom !!!! They were just happy to sing their songs about Staines! and had some good banter with our supporters too !

Well done.....Just shows what encouragment does ?

A good performance today, but a top six finish isn't going to be easy. Finishing 7th should be well within our reach if we miss a top 6 spot. Is the 7th place play off over 2 legs? Is a date set for the play off?

The chances of Hemel finishing 7th in Div 1 North looks quite feasible. With the much loved Steve Browne now at Hemel, a real grudge match seems possible. Lets hope we can avoid it, but if we do finish 7th, what a tie that might be.

why was moller playing, unfit and generally poor, new player needs pace to pass players, can we make top 6,probably not, this team will probably finish 9th,the teams we have been playing have been poor,we have little or no commitment on the park or in the dug out, apart from windsor how many good teams can anyone remember us playing.this is not whinging just factual assesement on the season thus far

Yes but we have always struggled against the lower placed teams....

Our performances against Lewes -Dulwich -Staines-Bromley have been far better....

Yes We do need to be more consistant and ruthless !

But 9th Place ???? don't think so.... but this will mean that the teams currently in these places will have to win all their remaining games and most are playing each other as well ????

I heard that there might not even be a 7th place play off so its top 6 or nothing.....

up the rebels....

if we get behind them ...we can still do it !!!

I really couldn't care what football we are playing as long as every single player which takes to the field in the Slough shirt gave it their all, chased everything and showed a general desire to fight for every cause no matter how bad the situation.

Our support. Well, at least we didn't argue in amongst ourselves today. Always a good sign. Atmosphere was flat all game despite the attempts of the usual few (the number of people joining in appears to be diminishing?), but as usual, unless the team do something, the crowd won't generally respond with encouragement. First sign of any mistake and people are on their backs. With the BFG and their number eight yesterday though, and the fact we were winning and largely in control for the majority of the match, it subsided slightly.

Still plenty to play for. Good luck at Leatherhead one and all.

But I note that good support for egham does not seem to have done them too many favours on the pitch. Just 28 points all season and only seven wins. It is all down to expectation. I am no great non-league historian but I have never really noticed egham as a major force. I doubt greatly that they thought they had serious prospects of top six. Therefore the hardy and vocal band of egham supporters are presumably delighted when they put in the kind of effort they showed saturday and give a good game to one of the bigger teams in the division. They got a good goal to celebrate and I suspect every victory this season has been treated as a cup final win.

Compare and contrast with Slough. I think the vast majority of slough fans would have expected top six based on last season. I understand from Dom's excellent interview with Eddie that at the start of the season he expected top three. Sadly, twelve defeats in the season means this is now impossible. Thankfully top six is still a realistic possibility. But we cannot take anything for granted and you still need to get the points on the board. We cannot afford any more walton, bracknell or casual type performances. And that is why I was so infuriated and disappointed last tuesday.

It is particularly gauling that the difference between tuesday and saturday was so marked. If you did not know better you would have sworn it was two different teams. Effort, commitment and the nouse to play our passing game all present saturday were awol tuesday. If we can only do that consistently for the remainder of the season we will be fine. I still believe top six will happen.

Come on you rebels.
