Bands on MTV2

Recommended Posts

Right due to MTV2's satuation policy I really love the follwing 3 songs that I've heard a few times now, any info on the bands or release dates would be great!

Reason is Treason - Kasabian

The Rat - The Walkmen

In the Shadows - The Rasmus

The Walkmen single is particually good, one of the best I've heard for a long time!

Also from XFM last night

Formed a band - Art Brut (everyones banging on about these at the moment and I can see why they are pretty good - got single of the week in NME and Rolling Stone, good bet for next weeks Top 40 - funny thing is they are 2nd support at the Jimbob gig in May, fruitbat claims he discovered them)

This is for the poor - The Others!

Good songs so far:

Chocalate - Snow Patrol (I got a CD sent to me by this lot about 5yrs ago, they were pretty good then. Imagine my surpise when I saw thier last sinlge in the Top-tactic Top 10)

Undone: Sweater Song - Weezer (One of the only American bands you're allowed to like)

You will, You won't - Zutons (I have a feeling I may of brought this on Monday, I haven't looked in the bag yet)

And the new Cypress Hill single sounds like a 2nd rate boy band chrous with some very bad Cypress Hill rapping interlinked, they should give it up!

The Vines single is also good, I have a feeling I brought this a couple of weeks ago as well.

You see, (whisper it quietly) I don't actually mind the first Coldplay album. Not that I ever listen to it now, but at the time, I quite enjoyed it.

However, I can't fking stand them now. I reckon David Gray and Dido are Coldplay's mum and dad.

Aarrrgh. I hate Coldplay. Why the fk do the music press champion them so much?

(whisper it even quieter) but I actually quite like it as well!

My TV Coldplay story goes like this - I met a girl off a telephone chat line who lived in Norwood Junction in South London, she called me when I was out in the West End one Saturday night and suggested I may want to go to hers for a bit of hows yer father, on arrival about 1.30am very pissed and in possesion of a cowboy hat stolen from some Tex Mex resturant in Piccadilly Cirus she made her excuses and said she had to go as one of her kids were ill and promptly kicked me out. So it's 2.30am I'm in a South London suberb and there isn't a train until 7am, so while looking at the nighbus timetables I spot a "girl" across the road, I call her over and realising straight away "she wasn't a girl I tell "her" that I know her tits are fake and can I sleep on her floor. When I find her floor she puts on the Coldplay album and takes out some bizarre double-ended [***!!***] thing, I pass out, wake at 6.30am with a thumping headache, fortunatly not a thumping bottom. "She" left her phone number and I decided to nick the Coldplay album for "her" presuming that I was that way inclined.

I got to Norwood Junction station and a thameslink pulled up for a unschelduled stop (they must of known, train fellow in distress) I got on it and the story become stuff of ledgends!
