I dunno if i fancy Portugal. Had to work with a load of Portugeese when i lived in Guernsey. They wouldn't speak to me because i was English as apparently the English did something horrible to them in the past?

Strange!!!

 

Britain and Portugal have been allied to eachother for centuries, without hostility to eachother in between.

 

English/British people are usually warmly welcomed by Portugese people. Unless you are a drunken slob/yob, you might find yourself being invited in to someone's house for a drink or a bite to eat. They shower gifts on your children. They offer you "drink on the house" in restaurants.

Anyway, i can't judge a country on the likes of those working in Guernsey. I'll have to use Euro 2004 to be an excuse to visit Portugal!!!!! Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread is bringing back some old memories of my last trip to the Algarve... once was in a boozer's in Portugal...all the other people had left so we went round and collected up all the slops in a bucket that just happened to be in a field that contained a donkey - we got the donkey well pissed it was running round like a Looney, and as if that wasn't good enough, I hit a cow with a tennis ball from fifty odd yards (best shot of my life, right on its nose) and it started break dancing, with its legs going in different directions.
