Yet another terrible result/performance... must rank as the worst this season just ahead of the Bracknell game.

Why do we bother eh? yet again great away support, yet again the team fails to deliver. This was a must win game, but it seems once again the players either didn't realise the importance or thought it would be 'easy'. How many more can we afford to lose? none is probably the answer, if we WANT to gain 'promotion'. To be honest on that showing I can see Slough losing a few more, which will see them miss out and have the embarassment of playing village sides like Beaconsfield. That fact that they lost to a team who don't even get paid! What also annoyed me was there was hardly any shouting/encouragement on the pitch, it seemed they weren't bothered, maybe some of them aren't?

The particular highlight for me had to be that both a fellow supporter and one of the players or staff (unfortunately I did not catch who or otherwise they would be in for a right slating) told me I should not bother coming anymore because I criticised the team.

Are they above criticism, are they divine?

i'm sorry but this season in the premiership Spurs and Liverpool have both been booed and slated by their own fans, which was seen as deserved seeing as they were both play sh*t, yet when we do it, we suddenly don't know how to lose? should spend our money elsewhere? what make's Slough Town so different than any other team in the country. we pay our money to watch our team succeed and when we do we give them credit, when they play like eleven bags of [***!!***] dressed up as footballers we can't criticise them? if i had a particularly bad day at work (AS IF ID WORK) and was generally inept the whole day, should i get a pat on my back and a bonus for being cr*p, or should i get the b*llocking i deserve? double standards for Slough methinks...

Being hyper pedantic - surely your gaffer would pull you to one side and give you a word in your ear to pull your finger out rather than in front of the entire office/workforce?

Just thought of some more positive spin... Let me run this by you... An analogy here...

"You've got to $h@g a biffa [now and again] to appreciate the decent birds..."

Anyone feel more positive??! Anyone??... no??!

Depends if you learn your lesson.... The jury is still out on this one.

One of the many discussions on the coach on the way back was about team selection. Makes a change for such diplomatic discussions to be had on the coach full stop so it made a nice chance.

Thanks to Mr Statto (Radford) who kindly informs us that the only changes that seem to be made from the starting eleven are due to injuries. This in turn has led to, well, if I'm not injured, I'll be starting next week win, lose or draw syndrome in the players (Wilko & GK's excepted). This in turn has led to complacency within the players which in turn has caused the don't care attitude.

Just one theory on things anyway.

I can see both sides of the argument. On the one hand we should support the team through good times and bad but then there's times when things just get so bad that it's difficult not to express those frustrations. Let's at least try to stop arguing amongst ourselves on nights like this.

What is more worrying for me is that whenever we have put in a performance like that this season our reaction in the second half has been to get even worse. Against Whyteleafe, Croydon, Walton, Bracknell and now Casuals we have been very poor but then got even worse after half time. This, for me, is more worrying than playing badly to start with as it shows either the management cannot turn it around when it's needed or the players aren't sufficiently up for it to do it for themselves.

Anyway, yes we were terrible tonight but let's give a little bit of credit to Casuals who never looked even remotely like a team at the foot of the table and who played some quick, direct and effective football. Watching a team (although sadly not ours) show that level of commitment when playing just for the love of the game just reinforces why I watch non-league football and why I'm so disillusioned with the professional game.

Ian, I think you've hit the nail on the head there by saying their are times when frustations just get so much that you have to be vocal in your disgust. The reason that I had an argument with Sliski tonight and the reason I had a go at the team was not because I have personal difficulties with any of these people but because my love for STFC is so much that to see a performance like tonight, especially so soon after Bracknell, was very upsetting for me and obviously others such as Martin and Liam. The reason we feel this way is down to pure emotion and frustration not bad feeling towards anyone!

As usual, I think Ian has got it spot on with a perfectly balanced response.

It is upsetting for all of us as we all want to see Slough win home and away, and at least put in some real effort and graft which would make defeat more acceptable.

I would like to emphsise that I don't have a problem with any individual. I express my opinion that's all.

Ian, I did give credit to Casuals but look at their record. Have they just been unlucky all season or did they raise their game or (and I think this is the answer) did we just play so badly that anyone could have turned us over tonight and had any other team turned up they would have had a fair chance of beating casuals.
