Ilford found not guilty

Recommended Posts

Just seen this on the Romford website....

TROPHY SEMI GOES AHEAD

The second semi-final of the Gordon Brasted Trophy, between Southend Manor and Ilford, will take place on Sat. 3rd April with the winners facing Romford in the final at Burnham a week later. The match had been postponed due to administrative problems but these have now been resolved.

First of all I would like to congratulate the ESL on the decision they made. Whatever conclusion they came to there are bound to be criticised but thankfully commonsense has prevailed on this occasion.

I'm sure some ETFC fans as well as supporters from Sawbo and Eton Manor will not be pleased but we done NOTHING wrong so please let this be an end to the matter. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Foxy, you're wrong about us being dissapointed, we have stood back and let the powers that be, deal with the situation, without getting involved. The outcome was irrelavent to us, and we are more than happy with the results against you this season. Being a local club we at the Manor wish you all the best for the rest of the season.

Don't wish to put a downer on anything here but i was at the Sawbo Bishop Stortford game last night and did here a whisper in the bar that this matter isn't over by any means, Yes i know there was a meeting held on Monday night and whats come out of it but i hear there are some people that think this whole situation from start to finish smells of rottern eggs. I don't think this matter is over by anymeans. Stortford beat Sawbo 3-1 by the way.

I know nothing about this case. I feel that it is a pity that again a decision needed to be made by the League. It leads to discussions which have nothing to do with the play on the field. The League should investigate why this situation occurs so often. With so many talented teams in the ESL, it would be nice to concentrate on the football.
