What a load of over-rated [***!!***](exclamation mark). Often cited as an influence on several 80's/90's guitar bands- I can't hear it. Sister Ray - dirge, I'm Waiting For The Man - [****!!****], All Tomorrows Parties - wallowing. No end of bands cover their tracks, but no artist has ever had a top 40 hit with one of their songs, nor did they themselves.

 

But Transformer (Lou Reed) is a superb album.

 

How are you chaps these days- I take it you're not still banned from home games then?

The Velvets:

Having shared a beer with Mo Tucker & Sterling Morrison, and met John Cale while I was at Goldsmiths College, I can say they are [were, in the case of Sterling] a thoroughly decent bunch of people.

Lou Reed, the snotty-nosed git, on the other hand wouldn't even say "hello".

I still like 'em!!

Some of the VU's stuff is great though. I especially like the track "Sunday Morning", and most of the stuff off the album entitled ! The Velvet Underground" (I think it was their 3rd album) - "What goes on" and "Beginning to see the light" are top choons!. I dodn't actually mind "Waitng for the Man" - OMD do a good version of it too!

Yeah, and 2 many DJs also managed to mix 'Waiting for the man' with [****!!****] the pain away by Peaches and it worked, incredilbly!
