Banstead 1 Slough 2

Yep results went against us - basically all those challenging for the top six seem to have won! As for the game well I thought we were always in control as their shot for the goal was their only real effort. Trouble was with those awful conditions it made it a leveller in some ways and just a long punt upfield could have resulted in a chnce.

Good three points in bad conditions though - Wilko MOM easily.

Yes true BFR....keep wining and we will get there...very hard game to play good football and must have been very tough on the wet pitch...

It was hard enough to stand out in the wind in the first half just being a supporter let alone play in the conditions...bit disapointed by the Windsor and Lewes matches though, though they should have done better !!! and helped us a little ...

Good result, fair performance in abject conditions. Not great for football. I wonder if a couple of those high scoring games in our division were wind affected. All the goals whilst shooting one way?

I was impressed with Alan Judge who had a confident game in poor conditions. I suppose he is certainly experienced enough to cope...

Once again Hakki was brilliant in patches and chopper also had the odd flash of genius. Wilko was definately my motm with many cracking challenges flying in when needed. It was crucial to win the midfield battle when playing against the wind and wilko was fundamental in securing us plenty of good possession. Particularly impressive when you consider that banstead could not get out of their half first half.

Let's keep it going at the casuals, come on you rebels.

No 1. Important 3 points

No 2. Great performance from Hakki and Wilko in centre mid

No 3. Besides the two above, very poor last 15 when the boys seemed to go to sleep

No 4. How did Miller save Haddows effort at half time?

No 5. Has Miller broken his wrist?

No 6. How did Miller tip Mollers effort onto the bar at half time?

Final point, slightly peeved about certain people (naming no names but Dom and Chris S <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />) whinging on the coach because everyone else had won. As BFR stated, if we win all our games, unlikely but then it is for everyone else to win all theirs, then we finish in the top 6. The lads put in a really committed performance today in difficult conditions, which a lot of us saw first hand in our extremely competitive pre match kickabout, and we should have been happy about that, not going on about other results going against us. I do understand that these results are vitally important, but to be perfectly honest I am happier with todays results than if all the results had been reversed. At least we claimed our second consecutive win, and our seventh win in the last nine league games and we keep the winning mentality. To me that is the most important thing.

Overheard Foz at the burger bar saying he thinks he'll be ok for Tuesday. If not I think Judge will be in goal again. As I understand it we have him on forms as and when we need him for the rest of the season - so if Fozzy does get injured again we have a ready made replacement. Dont think you will see Hunt in the first team.

have to a gree with radder. The essential thing is that we got three points, from a gutsy team performance. I feel the last 15 minutes is the "play it in the corners" mntality. Would be much happier if we keptplaying the same way all through the match. Its quite difficult to conceed a goal when you have the ball. We need to keep possesion and play the ball around more and make them chase the ball. Doesnt help the team when the fans start getting nervous. Were are not the team we were last year losing games in the last five minutes.

much improved performance in terms of co-operation between Boot and Hodges, even if the final result wasnt perfect. The goals will come if they keep that up.

Cant see why some people expect the other contenders to fall away to suit us. If not for our February run we would still be on the fringes

Points will be dropped by all teams as the season progresses. All we can do is make sure we perform as well as we can, and keep the careless mistakes off the scoresheet.

April will be a busy time for all teams and squad depth may play a large part, as injuries and suspensions make their mark.
