Southend Manor V Ilford GMBT Semi Final

I just called my mate to make arrangements to travel to Southend for our semi final tomorrow and he has just informed me that this game has been postponed !

No idea why........

If anyone from Southend Manor is reading this maybe you could let me know why....?

Its been postponed due to Ilford playing an ilegible player when they Sawbridgeworth in the previous round so the essex senior commitee are meeting on monday to decide wether they will be thrown out of the competition and replaced by sawbo

I am absolutely shocked...

As far as I know..Ronnie signed from Ford Utd after Ilford received clearance from the league that he was ALLOWED to play....!

Ilford have complied with the league so how the hell are we being questioned.....?

Well he played against Eton Manor on 14th Feb after Ilford received authorisation from the league the previous day.

My undertstanding is that Ford simply forgot to cancel the contract, and as Ilford were given to understand this had already happened, they were in the clear.

 

It finnaly got cancelled a day before our game with Ilford. If the League now decide that Ilford are guilty of something, then surly it should effect all games they have played using Watson, but not ours unfortunatley as it was sorted just in time.

 

I can only think Sawbo (greedy bast&rds) have kicked up a stink.

and Foxy please dont be so naive as to think that Ilford are not up to it again the whole league knows about whats go on and if you wanna check the dates phone the FA as they will put you straight.

Not sure if this the right thread (or even the right forum) but Ilford responded to the postponement by sportingly fielding their full first team against the St Albans reserves this afternoon and thrashing them 8-1.

Not jealousy Mr Sawbo,but those with long memories will remember the events of the Lge Cup S/F of 93/94.

 

Even if the contract had not been cancelled, if Ford had stopped paying Watson,and Watson had stopped playing for them, then there was a breach by both parties. The remedy would be for Ford to pay and Watson to play, as neither was going to happen and neither party had any intention of that happeneing, the contract could be considered discharged.

 

Ilford's only problem might be if the notice from Ford that the contract had been cancelled was only verbal.

The correct procedure would be for the league to make their decision, inform Ilford then maybe put a short statement on here. I accept that officials do use this site and sometimes we like to hear what they have to say, but surely we all accept that sometimes information has to be filtered through the correct channels. We will all know within the next three or four days anyway

How can this be when we have been totally honest and upfront.

We contacted the league about Ronnie on Friday 13th March and they said he could play.

So Ford Utd [****!!****] up and we get kicked out the cup and maybe points docked.
