Indeed (seems only cr@p gets column inches these days <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> ) .... firstly many thanks to those who braved the M25 and came to give us much needed support.... now to expand a little ....

 

The lighting was a little poor, leaving dark patches around the pitch ( better be careful on the dark front, I dont want to be accused of anything <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ) the pitch itself was not good, the first pass of the night bouncing up 2 feet in the air over Attwoods foot.

That really set the tone for the game. Not much opportunity for free flowing football but lots of crunching challenges and the odd flailing arm ( we managed to keep our fight on the pitch despite other promises). <img src="/images/graemlins/diskussion.gif" alt="" />

 

Despite changes due to injury to Wes, and various bumps and bruises the boys battled really well, I thought it was a great performance, under very difficult circumstances and its a shame that the league have published the result the wrong way round meaning we have been knocked off the top of the table !!

 

Now there's something to get really upset about <img src="/images/graemlins/bawling.gif" alt="" />

 

Looking at the league, cant see Canvey loosing 3 other games, after we have beaten them of course, so it seems that if we can avoid defeat in 5 of our remaining 7 games we are guaranteed runners up spot. Not bad for our first season in the Premier Division.

 

That aside we tasted defeat in the Herts Intermediate Semi Final and we have still got the League Cup Semi final to come.....

 

..... but overall it has always been the aim to develop the younger talent we have available and the players who have progressed this season, regulars (on pitch or bench) Deacon, Seeby, Davis, Cogger plus others with an eye to future seasons, Jones, Attwood to mention a couple (there will more) shows that those in charge have done a tremendous job and clearly understand what this side is all about.

 

Well done HKS and VJ .... lets bring some fun back into it .....

Thanks for the plaudits Caretaker, much appreciated. Perhaps you can something up for me.

 

According to the Observer, someone called Josh Allbone played against Braintree on Saturday. Is this a misprint, or is it a reference to his tackle/s ?

Must be a mistake, I would asume it should be Josh Smith but as yet I haven't seen the paper....had to be at work early today <img src="/images/graemlins/chat.gif" alt="" />

 

We can put it down to Enforcer Edwards as he is away this week and obviously wasn't concentrating <img src="/images/graemlins/cheeburga.gif" alt="" />

I agree TC, not a bad game considering the dreadful pitch and hardly condusive to the lads' normal passing game. Everyone still enjoyed it, all the same.

 

I see Canvey shipped 3 last night so anything is still possible. It's not over till it's over, TC. Another win on Saturday at Ilford and we go 5 points clear again.

 

HKS, I think Josh Allbone was the Braintree No 8.

 

Finally, well done to everyone for a fantastic season.
