There certainly has been a lot of cr@p posted on here and among it, some words of wisdom over the past few days. I don't claim any wisdom but I would like to add a couple of views.

 

There are people who come on here intent on causing mischief, often from other clubs who are not secure in the "Top 13". Don't kid yourselves that they have some high moral view of any given incident and merely want to air and share it on here or that they have fond feelings for The Mighty Saints. Their goal would be achieved if, in some small way as a result of their efforts, our results on the pitch suffered.

 

The regulars know the identity of 'Carrot Cruncher'. The Chairman of another Ryman Premier League club. Think about it.

 

I do not include 'bluesnet' in the above category. It would appear that he has a complaint and he has taken it to the proper authorities. I didn't see or hear what happened at first hand following the Stortford match and I wont comment.

 

As for the Saintsfans on here, cast your minds back to one or two 'incidents' over the past couple of seasons when you have felt that some kind of injustice has gone un-corrected. I can think of a couple of occasions where something was achieved but not by hysterical clamour for instant resolution on here, usually that slows and hinders the process, but rather by calm, rational discussion with those involved. Calm, rational discussion takes place internally and in private and the mischief-makers from other clubs are excluded.

 

As far as I know, John Gibson rarely visits this board. I don't know the Chairman as well as some, but I am certain that if he were to come on here, he wouldn't be able to spot the mischief-makers as easily as a regular contributor. In particular, I have absolutely no doubt that, if he were to see some suggestion that the clubhouse should be boycotted unless the Board take some action or another within the next 10 minutes, he would re-act to that in the same way that I would. Usually, those that carry out some sort of a threat of that kind because thay don't achieve their desired objective regret it in the long run. I rather admired 'bluesnet's' response in any event.

 

Think about it and calm it down. Restraint and moderation.

 

As far as the incidents in the clubhouse after the Urchins game are concerned, the relevant people involved know my views. Not from reading them on here as my views have nothing to do with the mischief-makers, thanks all the same. I have told the relevant people my views, calmly and, I hope, rationally. Those [mercifully] few people who know who I am, probably, would guess at my views in any event.

 

I have no doubt that the Chairman and the Board will take appropriate action which can be debated in due course. Don't press for it, if for no other reason that pressing for it on here is a waste of breath or, more accurately, skin cells from your finger tips.
