Fights at Stockport (cost the club quite a bit of money I gather)

Odd, I don't seem to remember a fight, I seem to remember some over zealous stewards ejecting City fans for 'standing up' whilst vast swathes of the Stockport end were doing exactly the same thing.

Easy to see how things get distorted <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

"3. Bluesnet's point was well made - why the sarcasm ?

simple, becuase I choose where and when i will have a drink, not from some essex supporting lemon"

I was specifically replying to the originating message poster-who invited comment. I was not talking to/advising you of anything and would not presume to.

I'm not sure why legionxiv, Woody and Super Saints are bringing EFM into this, as it's surely an entirely separate issue. Or is assault okay in your eyes if it's carried out on an EFM member?

Hertsblue - I hear what you're saying but I'm sure you can understand why Laz and others will be slightly uncomfortable with going into the club bar for the time being.

Other incidents that have been "swept under the carpet"

Can throwing at Hendon

Fights at Billericay

Fights at Stockport (cost the club quite a bit of money I gather)

Ejection of fan(s) at Chester

any more I've missed?

I may be wrong but weren't there also incidents at Aylesbury, Carshalton, Kingstonian and I also seem to recall someone being ejected at Aldershot on at least one occasion.

Of course. And everyone has the right to respond in whatever way they want to, and drink where they like.

However, given what's been done can't be undone, however much most contributors here (though I suspect not all) on this board would like it to be, we have a couple of options. We can either take a step back to figure out what needs to be done to the satisfaction of all concerned, to get this behind us so we can all move on - and that doesn't mean sweeping it under the carpet - or we carry on as we are with recriminations on both sides. It just seems to me that the former has to be preferable. I don't know what's being done behind the scenes, though I do concur with AFF's post a little further up in terms of how these things are best handled. If nothing's being done behind the scenes, then I'd encourage both sides to get together and to sort this out. May seem like stating the obvious, but sometime it needs to be said. I'm not defending what happened. But we just can't make what happened un-happen. So we need to deal with it. Let's do it.

Legionxvi (Geoff?)

I tried to send you a private message but it won't go through.

I was misled into thinking you were the same person as Jillkingis fit and ESG. This was before I noticed you sign off as Geoff on another posting.

My remark earlier about 'acid house craze' was meant as a gentle tease to ESG cause he often writes wierd stuff on the other message board that no one ever understands and talks about the second summer of love!

Am i missing something nostro? What has all this got to do with Mark White being punched in an unprovoked attack in the club bar?

I don't think more and more do want the Chairman out. Most couldn't give a toss who the Chairman is; what they want is a successful club that is sensibly managed. The success will only come from a team who play to their strengths; that is unlikely under Steve Castle who only seems interested in playing the long high ball.

I much prefer John Gibson's style than that of his predecessor - a meglomaniac & compulsive liar!

I suspect our current Chairman has better things to do than worry about Derek Brown and I suspect he regets ever getting involved with the Saints. However if he wants out i'd rather he went with a replacement set up than leave the club suddenly for it to fold up.

I like everyone else would welcome a statement as to why Brown & Smith were not sacked & I expect one will be given - but only when the Chairman himself chooses.
