Another Ryman club moves to Non League UK!!

Before you organise a street party to celebrate the arrival of Braintree Town F.C. to Non League UK, Zealster.....

 

....I noticed a message on their Board, 'Iron Chatter' to the effect that the link thing from their Official Web-Site to their Unofficial Message Board had been removed. When questioned, the Board of The Iron explained that, as no "Official" of the Club was a moderator, they felt unable to maintain the link.

 

There is no posting on 'Iron Chatter' today, Zealster, so, presumably, you have inside knowledge.

 

Are we to welcome an 'Official' Iron message board on here or is it the 'Iron Chatter' board simply transfering? Any idea who will act as Moderator, CZ?

AFF - only noticed they'd joined as I saw their forum when clicking on "Ryman Forums" at the top of the screen.

Have you any idea of the powers that a Moderator on one club's Forum has over any other Club's Forum? I don't, but I would be interested to hear.

No power over another club's forum, although a moderator does have the ability to ban individuals from all forums on Non-League UK.

Is my memory failing me or didn't Gary STFC remove a complete thread from our Football Forum thingy a couple of months ago?

 

So a Moderator of, let's pick a Ryman Premier League club at random, shall we, Braintree Town, has the power to ban an individual from all forums, does he/she?

Yes, he would.

 

But a moderator of, say St Albans City, would have the power to immediately unban that person again.

 

GarySTFC had the power to remove the thread as he is an Administrator (red name!!)

With the club, Website and these forums seperating, I think we need to review the moderators.

 

I'm sure Webbo and Rob want no part. They seem to be under pressure from the club to censor information on here. Perhaps we need a new set of moderators. AFF could probably fill the role, Zealster is doing it anyway, and I would be happy to help out.

 

What does everyone think?

 

I think we need responsible and independant people in control of the delete key.

I agree, although I'd like my name back in green again with a little 'M' by it. All this logging into SACFCMod2 is a nightmare.
