Recent Team Selection Moan

Couldn’t make the game this week due family commitments.

 

From what I have read however, it seems like we are falling into some sort of players position trap again. Who cares if there is someone from Shrewsbury/Telford watching the game. The be all and end all this season is to keep on selecting the best 11 and the ones that have been doing the business for us for most of the season. The league is the only priority this season, nothing else. Even if there was a scout down from our next round opponents, who cares!

 

LEE PROTHEROE

Why has Lee Protheroe has suddenly been selected? I’m sorry, he just is not good enough for our best eleven and I would have Dobbo starting every time before him. The guy has been on loan and suddenly returns with rave reviews and is in the startling 11 but he is not a Canvey best 11 player.

Was Midgley playing on the left? What the hell was going on. I have been critical of Midgley but he has played better the last few weeks and seems to have found some pace and more understanding out there on the right.

 

What has stood us in good stead this season is the starting line up being nearly the same each week and you can see the understanding built up.

 

Although nice to involve, these games are just too important still to try out players and should start with players who have been regularly playing with others filling when regular players are absent.

 

From who I have seen who was available the startling line up should have been.

Potter

Chenery, Cowan, Theobald,

Midgley, Kennedy, Dobinson, Berquez

Minton

Boylan, Gregory

 

It’s been fantastic watching our team play so well for most of the season. Don’t start playing around with the positions, not at this stage!!

I disagree that Proth's doesnt deserve a first team place, personally. (I'm sure many others will disagree!) I've always seen him as a decent player... Of course this is only my opinion and I'm prepared to take some bitching from it <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

How is Proths off the ball ability now? I know he could look a little lost at times. Maybe Proths can go on the right for Midgley for a game or two if he has improved some?!

Just as Midgley has improved out on the right and given us more of an option, he was apparently playing on the left last Saturday!

Can't understand it.

 

If Protheroe was one of the best 11 then he would not of been loaned out I would of thought. He has a mean free kick but sorry, I just see him as a fringe player.

Would be okay to play him when there was not as much at stake but surely Dobbo should be in there for now.

Lee Protheroe might be a fringe player for you boys but he turned in some excellent performances for Gravesend during his loan spell and we would welcome him back anytime.
