Louie Evans & Jimmy Strouts

Good luck to both players in their moves to Braintree & Welling respectively.

 

Jimmy did his bit last year to help keep us in the Conference.

 

Louie never really got his chance for us, but perhaps if he goes elsewhere, he will be able to succeed and move upwards again afterwards. I think he deserves to get that chance in due course.

did the fleet actually get any money for them? I thought louie evans was class. I would expect at least £8.7 million for a player like that. hope the fleet wern't ripped off.

Good luck to them both. Jimmy was probably nearing the end of his conference career anyway, but had a fitting final game live on National TV.

Louis never really got a chance at Fleet, but it must be said that the strikers replacing him are in a different class.

louis was a tricky skillful player, but it didnt always come off. and i always thought his finishing was amazing in the pre match warm up, top corner shots all over the pplace,but he never really got the chance in a game.

As for jimmy, I thought he was rubbish. good luck to him though.

I am a big fan of Louie Evans,excellent first touch and ball control Definitly Conference standard,he should do well for you.Good Luck Louie.

I never really rated Louie until he came back from his loan spell at Bedford,he'd obviously got some confidence and match fitness and he looked a useful player,doubt he'd be a regular in the conference but a good ryman league player.

What a stupid thing to say, Squawk - how many times did you actually see him play? I always thought Jimmy was a solid player for us over the last couple of seasons, who brought the important quality of prior Conference experience to our side last year. Just to dismiss him as rubbish is totally unfair.

Cheers Boys, Louie made his debut in Braintree Town's 2.5 defeat at home to 5th bottom Northwood, who have now moved to 6th bottom. We have stayed 2nd form bottom.

How was Louie's performance and what is your first impression of him?

I will you know what I think after Thurrock away on Saturday as I don't think it would be kind to judge him purely on 1 game in a heavy home defeat.

According to today's NLP, Louie was sent off along with a Sutton player, late in yesterday's game, for a handbag confrontation.

Louie did get sent off, straight Red, picked up a 3 game suspension, but played well before and since his ban.

 

Saturday away at Hitchin he will play up front with James Baker again, a young lad who has come through our reserves.

 

If It was up to me, I would like us to keep Louie for next year, it can not be easy coming into a struggling team, let him have a go next season when we go for the Ryman title.
