Webbo, here's a simple question:

Should the players be sacked for violently assulting me?

Laz - I only know you as Laz - don't know your REAL name - I thought that was the point of the forum - otherwise names would be in the press wouldn't they?

But - in all honesty if I was "attacked" by a player for no reason (and I mean NO reason) I would 1st expect an appology - and an explanation - if that did not happen then yes.

Erm, the damage to your Club was caused by players punching their own fans not by a news story reporting it.

Your club affairs are not for me to comment on, but ALL Saints fans will be made welcome at Woodside Park on Saturday whether anyone else at SACFC likes it or not. Hope to see you all there and drinking in the bar with no fear of being attacked on our premises. God help us, whatever next?

Well hear we go!

As the supporter that seemed to of started this whole episode I'll have my say!

Firstly I had my say about the team on this site, as a paying and long attanding loyal fan that is my right. Derek Brown obviously took offence at this, hence the personal e-mail he sent me last week suggesting we have a chat.

On Saturday I was sitting at the side of the bar in my normal position with Laz, hooded man, boot cleaner and a few Hornchurch fans (including LMU). Derek Brown walks in and launchs a tide of abuse at me, I ignore him and he eventully goes after offering everybody out!

After a while I get up to leave with Laz and the hooded man a few paces behind me, as i walk past Brown he launches into another round of abuse. At this point I would like to point out that I didn't utter a word at Derek Brown, I ignored him. This is the first floor in the Observers article - I've checked the dictionary and it assures me that an arguement should involve two or more people, what Derek Brown did was abuse me.

When I reach the bottom of the stairs I look back and notice Derek Brown coming after me, I reach the bottom and turn the corner when I hear people shouting for Brownie to leave it alone, when he hadn't followed me around the corner I presumed that people had just held him back.

The rest is as Laz's acccout as I wasn't a witness to the actual fight.

The stance the club is taking is a joke, are they trying to tell me that a supporter (as i recall only 1 supporter had a bottle) walking away towards the door with a bottle was felt as a threat to over 10 St.Albans players at the other end of the bar, this also doesn't explain why Derek Brown came after the 3 supporters after they had left the bar, surely if that account is true then when the bottle weilding thug had left the bar the danger had passed.

To also suggest that this is all down to me or EFM is a joke, all I did was express an opinion on the team, which was what I seem to remember our very own chairman doing himself in the local press only a few weeks ago!

I agree with what everyone else has said - If a staff member assualts a customer they should be sacked. If EFM had done any of this (an assult or abusing people in a bar) we'd be banned!

I agree with Bluesnet....the Observer hasn't ruined the name of the club.......the aleged assault has!

If the supporters concerned feel they are in the right.....then take it to court.....not taking sides, but that is the only way to stop something like this ever happening again.

Apart from the distress to the people who were attacked.....can you imagine the distress to others in the bar. I cab assure you after being on the Jury for a similar case..not only will they be tried for assault, but probably Affray as well.....

Thanks for those words, Bluesnet. I for one will be at the game Saturday and I'm sure others will to. If you want to hear the story I'm happy to tell you all about it, you might get a beer out of me too.

I'll be there early.

I hardly think a few postings on a message board will hold up in court - this is the thing that gets me - why not just do what you want - take the club to court - explain to the judge what happened - let the defense set there case etc.

But why post everything on here? I just don't get it.
