man tops himself over huge debts

Nah...Dad!!

Keep away from the Algarve...full of English scum! And they get ripped off too!

Anywhere from the latitude of Lisbon going North is great!

We travelled around Iberia for about 4 weeks, spent two of 'em in Portugal, and it was terrific.

Cheap cheap cheap!! as I said before.

Another lovely place was the north-west coast of Spain - beautiful beaches, a few non-touristy ones too.

Santiago Del Compostella is a great town - loads of tapas bars and quality restaurants, street performers [decent ones, not pi55ed up fools with a one-string acoustic and a dog on a rope], and being a medieval walled town it's architecture is pure old-Spain [if you catch my drift]

Didn't mean it like that, actually!

The Algarve in the 70s was a lovely place but las touristas have somewhat dampened the "experience".

One seaside town we stayed at was called Ericerea...or something like that. Mmmmm nice!

of course it is his fault..

1. for getting married in the first place, but we shall over look that as we nearly all make that mistake!!

2. buying a house with that many people involved was a recipe for disaster.. run a business with partners sure, but living in the same house with his wife her sister and her husband.. im surprised it lasted more than 3 weeks! why didnt himself and his wife rent untill they could afford to buy on there own..? probably wanted to jump onto the property gravy train with everyone else at that time?

adn as for negative equity, well the value of anything you buy can go up or down its your risk that your are free to take or not..

or should that risk be assumed by the govmnt as well in nanny state britain..?

Im having a bad day as I 100% agree with Canv and Unc

My first flat was a Pixxol with enough damp to grow mushrooms

we visited the local laundrette twice a week and worked our nuts off to get out of there

Friday night we maybe had enough left over to have a reasonable drink OR (not both) a meal with friends

Nobody owed us and we owed nobody, we eventually got our first house in Brentwood by the skin of our 30% deposit teeth and I worked 7 days a week for another 5-6 years

The deal missing now is where you offer your skills the employer offers a salary and you get on with it or fxxck off elsewhere and make a different deal

Now its "they owe me". news for you lads they or nobody else owes nothing to no one

Hardly seems fair though does it? Youngsters having to move away from where they were born and grew up in order to secure affordable accommodation, because the suitable cheaper accommodation in London is now inhabited by 'you know who', who have come from 'you know where'.

Fair enough youngsters ain't owed nothing, but if that's the case then neither are those who are turning up in their thousands in that backs of lorries, claiming to be asylum fcking seekers.

There's quite a few people in this county who'll never forgive this government and the second-rate politicians in office for turning this country into the joke that it is now.
