Why they making such a big deal out of it. Like it said u didn't hear thurrock, dundee or wimbledon make a fuss. Dagenham & Redbridge and Ford United/ Redbridge FC are not in the same league unlike the two Dundees which you could have a moan about!

They should just learn to live with it because i doubt the FA would make them change it.

Actually I can quite understand why they are kicking up a fuss.

 

Two football clubs merged to become D&RFC One of them being Redbridge FC. It doesn't seem right for another, unconnected club to take on that name when its already in existance.

 

We wouldn't be keen on a Northfleet FC would we?

 

Seems like a bit of a PR attempt on the part of the new club to me.

Dagenham merged with Redbridge Forest not Redbridge FC. If they don't like it perhaps they should include the 'Forest' part and become D&RFFC!

I think you will find that they agreed to drop the "Forest" part in order to make the name more sensible.

 

Rather like we dropped the "United" part of Northfleet United for similar reasons way back in 1946.

Apparantley when Notts County were formed it was objections from Margate that forced them to add the "o" to their second name.

If Ford are going to play in Barkingside...why can't they call themselves Barkingside???? Seems somebody is just trying to stir something up! Has there been bad blood between these Clubs in the past?

In this a case of a club having a bad year after several successful seasons and with attenadances dropping ie less than a 1000 the other night and they are feeling slightly sensitive. I think we probably all would if we had been thumped 9-0 at home live on national telly.

It'll all be irrelevant in a few years time when the Mutants have continued their ongoing quest to be formed from the remnants of as many clubs as possible and swallowed up the Ford Redbridge.

Why change your name in the first place? lol..pretty simple... and why make it a team name that is already in existance?
