ive gone for option b.. this also allows us to have a link on the confguide forum (if we go up) where most of the message board traffic seems to go thru in that league.. if there is too much crap going thru then can a further members only bit can be added later..?

It's obviously up to you lot, and nothing to do with me, but can I just say that I think it's a GOOD THING that you let non-Canv supporters post on your forum.

 

Surfing around various other clubs' forums outside of this site, I've found that the ones which prevent "outsiders" from posting are insular, in that they seem distant from the general football supporting community...and are also very boring, at that!!

 

And if you went that route, you'd miss out on all those Good Luck messages from Billericay, for a start!!

This forum has never been just for Canvey fans and i don`t think that is what`s intended. As far as i know anyone who registers can post on any forum on this site but you cannot post without registering which you can do on other forums. I have gone for option B for the same reason as Canv but that does leave us open to a lot of rubbish posts.

I went for Option C, I think having a members only General Forum and a Football Forum where anyone can post is promising.

 

Therefore any oppostions fans wanting to hurl abuse or praise our team can do so if they only come on here once of twice a season without the need for registration. However any non-football/football topics that go on in the general forum should be for members only. We all know who the regular posters are on here anyway.

i see what your saying matt but the general one for all comers is gonna a bit dead, will anyone bother apart from the praise/abuse etc bit.

without the other chit chat there isnt much to get involved in.. i say go it alone and if it gets too tedious then start a members only one.. remember if you split you will lose a lot of the usual early season riccay fun when they win their 3 games of the season, and the urchins and albans and all the other stuff

I have gone for option a because I like the way it is. Guests cant just come in our forum and talk about canvey. They should register so we can contact them if being rude or out of order etc.

Option A for me too, I wish Braintree had a registering site exactly like this, it stops people coming on your site, calling themselves whatever and stirring up trouble.

 

If we did not already have two forums, I would suggest this, but Phil and Iron Webbo do good jobs so I will leave to them.

 

We had all the posts about our Chairman and then about our Manager, if we were like you, they would have to stick their balls to their post.

leave things as they are....what would we do without me and pabird ripping lumps out of each other or the ricay and urchin kids getting banned and counter banned.....(and I have it on good authority that peace has broken out and they'll all be unshackled manana)

I think nobody can be bothered to vote because basically they are happy with things the way they are. Had there been a body of opinion that desperately wanted change the votes would have come romping in.

 

Come on Ian. Make a decision; preferably to leave things as they are and close this thread. It's only taking up space at the top of the page.
