I would like to accept your post as being constructive and impartial in this matter pabird.....

but 'tis sadly just another swipe at our manager.....and an obvious one at that....

do try harder old bean.....its all a bit tired and indeed there are more important issues to discuss at the mo.....we'll do george for you on a seperate thread in due course....(I promise).....

at the moment we are talking about players bashing up fans....

Whether critisism of Players and Managers/Board on a forum(and a forum is supposed to be for resonable free speach)is right or wrong, violence by those people cannot be condoned. Clubs try hard to project a Family atmosphere, and the clubhouse is the obvious showcase for such an Ideal. How many people will belost by this???

We have only heard one side of the incident on here, but if that is true, those concerned who hold official positions within the club must be hit hard by the FA, and also the Courts. Violence by the fans is not condoned, neither should this be!

'twasn't young dougie Nige but nonetheless he is a much improved player of late and eagerly awaiting his chances when they come....

I personally feel that dougie is a little light weight in the hurly burly world of prem footie but certain games are his to enjoy...bognor for one methinks where they play good footie on a real footie pitch...

talking of opinions...have those gangsters been removed from your beloved boleyn yet or are they still ripping off gullible fans by the thousand......

No you got me wrong old sensitive you, there are several forums where to be critical of the manager/coach is looked down on big time, where a club has been successful and then those same players stop performing the manager/coach must stand square with the players and take the critics comments

You are not the only club in this position this term, several teams performed well pre-Christmas and are falling away now

As for the St Albans situation there is something seriously adrift in communication terms between the blazers and the people who matter most (week in week out support)and that has been the case for some considerable time.

I would agree that players "bashing" up supporters is not on. The same applies for any one who is either an official or employed by a club. Then again, shouldn't the supporters have a responsibility for what they post? Or say?

Reasonable criticism can be dealt with. It can be discussed either here on the forum or at the club over a drink. It is when it becomes personal or from a "supporter" that isn't known to the club, that it becomes a problem.

Whatever EMF said, posted, e mailed, I can only presume that it was "passionate" enough to spark a violent reaction. Wrong or right, he got the reaction, and it serves as a lesson to us all who do feel as passionate about our clubs that we must temper our veiws with a degree of reasonableness.

Unc, you know the problems we have faced with the club this season and with certain postings from "informed" persons about the dealings of ex officials. The forum is a great oportunity to put over a view, arguement, banter, piss take but it does need control as whoever reads the comments can take offence.

That may well be the case Gazza but well trained athletes taking the shilling for professional services carry a great deal of responsibility and getting (by choice) into fisty-cuffs with supporters is out of order (unless you are Eric Cantona and backed by an alcoholic jock manager)

hardly falling away pabird.....so many games in hand to be won I agree but if...IF.... we were to win them all we'd be in second spot...so the challenge is ours to take up.....good FA run...good trophy run...still in the league cup....

I agree that fans should be able to discuss the merits of their players and their managers....

I think that you have a disadvantage here pabird as you've made to much of your resentment of GB so our fans will be hostile....they love him....so they will take no notice of your posts on here.....you may want to think about that because you obviously have a healthy knowledge of non league matters that will be ignored due to you lack of objectivity in urchin matters...

thats a pity....

regardless of your opinions...GB and every manager shall be ultimately judged by performances on the pitch and ability for the future...

as much of a nuisance as I can be with my drivel...its all mostly light hearted and can quite obviously be recognised as such by most people....as indeed can my serious posts...(hopefully)....

I do however tend to steer clear of posting on other clubs forums when it comes to their players and managers.....that seems reasonable to me as I dont get the chance to watch those teams perform so therefore can pass no opinion...

that does really apply to you as well pabird with our georgie....how many of our games have you seen this season...?

as for you Gaz.....totally agree....there is a fine line between what is acceptable and what isn't......its all about opinion....the dissenters on your board were dipsticks who had no affinity with ricay and you were right to bar 'em and delete their posts...I thought you waited too long.....

but the opinions about players performances has to be the way...there is nothing to be gained from stopping the fans having their opinions aired....as you also say...there must be a limit and if it becomes personally abusive toward that player...then yes...it has to stop.....

had it been going on over on our channel I would have fcked 'em orf at the beginning....nothing to do with censorship....'twas downright spiteful and harmful to what you guys were trying to achieve.....and you did achieve it and good luck to you....

so there.....still think that thornsy was the victim...(as was Laz)...very commited guys who would walk a 100 miles to watch their team play.....both were set upon by physically fit football players...whatever thornsy had said....it is not acceptable....

had the boot been on the other foot I've no doubt that the fans would have been arrested and also banned forever from the club.....

double standards from the blazers...you betcha

one other point...thornsy's posts are always humerous...never abusive and mostly well informed albeit with an air of resignation and a spoonful of irony.....

(as indeed are most of the EFM guys apart from costello who's abusive and semi illiterate)...

and in defence of him...perhaps he does that deliberatly as part of his forum persona....

who knows...its not real is it...forums are supposed to be what they are....outlets for opinions under assumed guises....

we all post crap from time to time...we all have a go at others from time to time....terrible thing if we were attacked for it....I've had furious verbal punch ups on here over the years with people that I have also enjoyed a good larf and a drink with.....(incl Laz and Thornsy)

I've been slagged off vilified and accused of everything except rape...I've had my business life discussed and my sexual preferences questioned....

I've been called a con man and a glory hunter.....a thief and a ground stealer.....

but never...ever once.... have I wanted to punch anyone....

Unc I have seen GB perform and fail to perform over a few years now and feel content that your support will make up its own mind eventually

I enjoy the chat with many of you support but lose little sleep as to whether or not they discuss my objectivity

I'm sure pabird that you will lose little sleep over us scruffy urchins.....

I merely made the point that given your knowledge and experience of non league matters it is a shame that you are unable to enter into reasonable debate with us due to your lack of objectivity in all things 'borgie'....

as I said.... perhaps food for thought....
