CRAP!!!!!!!!!!

Radders

Due to the fact that I live in 'pikie' Bracknell, I can break the bad news that we lost 4-2 and were crap! We deserved nothing and conceded the last two goals when they were down to 10 men. Went one nil down, Boot equalised before Bracknell retook the lead just before the break. Then we got a penalty which probably wasn't, No 4 was sent off but Boot's penalty was crap and easily saved. Then we collapsed before they got a 3rd and 4th and then Boot, who was apart from his goals, awful got a mere consolation. Disgraceful performance, I apologise to Chris S and others who want us to get behind the team, but it was crap and not what our large number of travelling fans deserve to see.

This is why Boot plays at this level, penalty absouloute disgrace,2-1 down and he tries to pass the ball into the net, this defeat is down to t.boot, had we scored then we would have won this game,if we cannot beat teams of Bracknells ability then we will stay where we are which considering our support is poor.we deserve better.

Don't want to be too harsh on Boot, but he seemed more interested in getting their No 4's attention as he was making his way off the field. He needed to focus on the penalty, which he took with no conviction at all.

We looked lively at times in the first half but conceded soft goals and, even against 10 men and with 4 strikers on, we still didn't look like getting back into it.

Can't finish without moaning about the referee ( we are Slough, after all ) - the trip on Hodge early on looked like a blatant penalty from where I was at the side, but as usual the linesman gave the ref no help at all. Not sure it would have made a difference, especially looking at the way Boot took the one we did get, but might have given us a bit more confidence.

Poor defending, poor crosses and a lack of imagination - I reckon the side is lacking a bit of pace.

I wasn't there today but I just cannot believe we can beat the likes of Lewes, Staines and Dulwich and then go and lose to Bracknell, and by all accounts, play poorly. What is going on? Were Bracknell just playing really well or were Slough just crap? We have the players to beat anyone in this league on their day, and they've proven it.

By the way I can understand the criticism of Boot from a work-rate perspective, but I read the criticism of his penalty and have to say at first glance it seems a little harsh - he's normally so reliable and assured with penalties, and he made one mistake, which undoubtedly many other players also did today.

Also I find it very concerning that the Slough defence leaked four goals. Clean sheets against the likes of Lewes and Bromley, and then four shipped against Bracknell. I just don't understand it sometimes... I hope Eddie can sort this out and get us back to winning ways against Croydon Ath. Looks like the curse of the manager of the month has struck !!

Bracknell weren't anything special at all, Matt - we leaked poor goals and didn't have the imagination to get back into it. We are becoming a bit one-dimensional - the ball is played in the air to Hodge who looks to flick on to Boot on the overlapping run. The problem is that Boot doesn't really have the pace to exploit it and often goes too early to make up for it, getting caught offside.

I take the point re the penalty, he has been reliable, but we need to win these games and can't rely on results elsewhere going our way. From 2-2 we would probably have gone on to win, so you can understand the frustration with the miss. I am sure Tony is gutted too.

Matt, if you dont go to the games then how can you comment on them? Boots penalty was poor, his workrate and control was poor and generally didn't do much.

The Midfield was the weak link today, Wilkinson went off early on and all the other 4 did nothing to get noticed.

I know i say it every week, but how does Alan Foster get into that team? The third goal was down to him (Dont start, i was walking behind the goal at the time!) and there was a number of occasions in the second half when he came well out of his area but luckily the long balls and crosses went wide of goal. If Andy Hunt has signed then he should easily walk into the team next Saturday.

Slough lost that game, too many people seemed too cocky on the pitch and as a result were easily beaten.

Sorry, I am the anonymous poster from Bracknell (didnt mean to be). We also nicked your Parklife theme 2 years ago. What ever happened to your drums and band????

The drums and band disappeared as we began to sink into the lower echelons of non-league football. And good news everyone another relegation is on the way. I missed the second boot goal as for the first time ever I left the game early. We were utter utter crap. Bracknell were marginally better than and were able to piss all over us with ten men. Why can't we play against ten men? Yet again we end up conceding goals against teams over who we have numerical advantage. Crazy. Shambolic.

It is days like today that make we wonder why I bother. Between those of us who put into the kitty we have done £1,000.00 of sponsorship this season, I go to every game, fuvk I have even started going to reserve games and we get repaid with utter [****!!****] like that.

What makes it more gauling is that a performance like that comes off the back of a tremondous run where we looked a class outfit and now this. Why is it that the team goes to pieces collectively. The defence was shocking today with barras and smurf having particularly poor days. Hodge was fairly anonymous and as for the walking ego that is boot, never has a player deserved two goals less. The entire midfield was MIA. I wholly disagreed with the substitutions and quite why we did not play on the fact that the 5 was old, slow and booked is beyond me.

The optimists will tell you it was just a blip and that we will get back on track. In picking up one point from the last six we have now lost all the benefit of the previous six victories. This was our eleventh blip of the season and that frankly is not good enough when the non-league system is being restructured and everyone is scrapping to take a place in the new pyramid.

Gutless and ball less.

Wrong, I do go to games - just not this one, as I had to work. I think I've missed about five or six games this season, mostly evening games in the week.

So therefore, having gone to 90%+ of games this season, I have a fair idea of how Tony Boot plays. I've seen him take many penalties this season, and can't recall seeing him miss one. I take your point that I didn't see today's one but I think it's harsh to blame one player when it's a team game. Others have stated elsewhere that central midfield looked weak for example. The bigger problem with Boot is his work-rate, sometimes he doesn't look 'up for it'. But I do believe that the team would be poorer without him. A lot of the play this season has come through him, to feed Hodge's goal tally, whereas last season he was the main marksman. I think he plays at his best when playing as an out-and-out striker alongside Hodge, rather than trying to link midfield and attack.

Chris, I agree we need to keep the faith and I for one have no way given up on the top 6. However, today was disappointing not so much for the scoreline but the lack of effort which seemed evident from the majority of the players. Lets just hope that we get back on our feet for Saturday after two below par performances.

Slough fans more than any others I've ever met are guilty of siding with their 'favourite' players or, in many cases, making scapegoats out of those they dislike. We did not lose because Boot missed a penalty, nor did we lose because Foster could supposedly have done better with one of the four goals.

We didn't win all those games recently due to one player and we didn't lose today because of a single player either. We lost because the team were collectively poor and it is crass to point the finger at individuals.

We were truly terrible today but the thing that disappointed me more than anything was the supporters. I heard arguments, people blaming the referee, undue criticism of individual players and even someone claiming Denton should be sacked.

We talk about supporting the team but that's bloody easy when we're winning. Where were we today when things weren't going so well? How many people applauded Andy Deaner when he came on? I can tell you the only one was me.

Yes, cheer Matt Miller on and sing his name when he comes off the bench trying to save the game for us and then do bugger all for Andy Deaner when he tries to do the same. Never mind, he's not one of the 'favourites' is he?

Is that the same Staines Town that have never beaten us in a competitive fixture?

I also clapped Deaner on, as I did every player going on and off. My criticism of Boot comes not just from today but from his overall performance this season. No, he did not lose us the game on his own today; that was because of a diabolical team performance. Not one player can take credit from todays game and that is what counted in the end.
