A trend we must stop !

STSA had their meeting last night and an important message came out clear !!

Polite notice to all........

We seam to be having a problem with the security of the officals and player when they come from the pitch at the end of the match, The situation is now getting a little out of hand and self control must be made.

the stewards are doing their best and the location of the referees room is exposed to those who wish to pass comment to the officals when they come from the pitch.

Please try to cool the situation if we don't this could lead to serve punishment from the league.

Please supporters control yourselves....

Yes you have your views...but self control after the match has ended will help.....thanks...

Chris Sliski

STSA Secretary.

I totally agree with STSA position - i was not impressed with people at the end of the Walton game running over to the refs changing rooms screaming abuse, and like i said in a previous post, the Walton fans who walked past wondered aloud if those screaming had been watching a different game. Fair enough to scream and shout during the game, and moan on the forum, on the coach, in the clubhouse (like Gary said Slough fans are renowned for moaning) but Tuesdays behaviour was not on. Of course this wouldn't have happened so easily at Wexham Park cos of the enclosed barriers.

Two things which would have alleviated the situation would have been:

- attacking the other end in the second half (i.e. the car park end)

- a late Slough winner

By no means was the referee any good towards us with a number of decisions going against us, especially the booking of Hodgey which I think now means he is suspended for a match. Was interesting to see a referee posted on the Whyteleafe forum (I think) in response to some stick he was getting to put his point across which was generally very well received I gather. Can't see that becoming too widespread though...

Another thing that was raised at the meeting was Slough have a good reputation with crowd trouble, at Wexham Park the players and officials left down a tunnell and behind closed doors and abuse was near impossible, at Stag Meadow the officials are exposed, but our fans should know better. If this doesn't stop we as a club are in danger of getting a reputation for not being able to control our fans.

At the end of the Walton game a number of those behind the goal made a concious decision to stay there so that they did not vent their spleen, as they were aware of previous outbursts at officals.

Instead they applauded the team for their hard work and commitment when decisions had not gone their way.

I herd BFR voice this view and in hindsight this has been proven to be the correct decision as otherwise the abuse would have been excessive and would have definately got us in trouble with the leauge.

This issue needs to be addressed, however it is an education process, not a waving of the stick reaction.

We all were frustrated by the decissions of the officals however it is "only a game" and occaisionaly they give cr*p decisions go in our favour!!!! - not often though.

I hope you're not suggesting that if I had got involved with the tirade after the match that Slough would now be in deeper trouble? I'm not that bad am I???? <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

The players are out on the pitch for one reason and that is to win football matches. They are not there to control the crowd. Slough obviously prefer shooting away from the car park in the second half and they should not have to change that for the fans. It is our responsibility to the club and the players to stay out of controversy after matches. I am not slagging off people in particular here, especially as I was one of the first people to have a go at Jamie Jarvis when he left the pitch in the Hampton home game, but as a group of supporters we must control ourselves and not expect the players to have to make sacrifices to keep the situation calmer.

That's true but is it an actual fact that the players prefer playing towards the car park in the first half, or has it got anything to do with the supporters already being in position there? I would have thought the former, but who knows. Obviously there are other circumstances like the sun being in their eyes.

Love the new message under your post Matt although I can't help thinking I've seen the format somewhere before. <img src="/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" />

I'm sorry but these posts are a load of [****!!****] the referee a total w***** and i have the right to say so. If at the end of a game we were to cheer and clap im for doing a great job would the league congratulate us? i don't think so. The league will always complain. but still send sub standard refs.

Thanks for the constructive points.....

Lets stop this and put this behind us...

and get on with the job in hand to get into the premier league ....up the rebels...

The STSA committee at next's Wednesday's Reserve match will have a look at the area and with full consoltation with Windsor see what can be done within the ground to eliviate the problem...

because unfortunatly we will have some idots try to vent their anger to the officals at some time or another...

but be assured STSA will try to sort this problem out...from becoming a major issue..

see you at Bracknell....up the rebels
