A Football love affair..

My relationship with this football club is a sort of love affair, I get upset when she doesn't turn up (match postponed), I fret when she goes away (close season), I feel for her when she looses something, when she's struggling to cope, when she doesn't perform very well and she knows it. I try to keep in touch with her when she's at the other end of the country and I couldn't go with her. I appreciate that her whole is more than the sum of her parts (it's not just what goes on on the field), all in all though she gives me a lot more pleasure than grief and I'll stick with her. For those of you threatening to walk out, boycott or whatever; if your partner or your good friend began dysfunctioning, would you start screaming and shouting at them to buck their ideas up, would you be threatening to leave them? Heavens chaps (and chappesses) can I have a look at the contract that lots of you seem to have copies of that promise passionate open flowing attacking football and a tight defence, and constant jockying for honours and silverware. We've had some very good seasons and we probably will again, I will continue to have a laugh on the terraces, enjoy the craik in JB's and here. You do know that the huge majority of football clubs this season won't win anything, and most of them will get drubbed at some point, don't you??????????????
