Is there a doctor in the house?!

Recommended Posts

My legs are absolutley killing me! Especially down near my ankles. I wnet to the gym after work yesterday and now my legs are so sore, even though I warmed up.

I go every other day and recently I've been finding that if I walk up some stairs for example by legs start to feel really heavy, if that makes any sense. That didn't happen before!

Also, if you just do workouts that are mainly cardiovascular eg the treadmill, cross-trainer,bike, is it really bad for you?

Well i always used to do them when i ran(admitedly not representing England like he has but i did run for kent,so quite a high level),and if i didn't do warm ups it took me a while to get going, and if i didn't do a good warm down my legs would kill for days afterwoods..maybe it was pyscosymatic(spelling?!) though..

hahaha! No Zeal, it's definitley NOT that! Although, my boobs have felt a bit bigger lately...! (I wish! )

The Wood man text me last night- and saturday, and friday AND thursday! I haven't replied though.

I did a warm down as well and I went into the steam room to relax my muscles. It could be because I went after work and I'd been on my feet all day anyway. But if you want to lose weight is it better to stick to cardio work-outs or should you do other stuff as well?

As you may have guessed, I can't afford a personal trainer!

Congrats on posts and boobs chubbmeister.

If I get sore arms or legs after a work out I always find that a swim helps it out because it's low resistance. You can sometimes get sore if you do a big increase in the resistance on work you do, I had a personal trainer from Tuesday and ached more than ever, they're not naturally the solution, or it could just be I'm really out of condition!

Funnily enough I am on a weight loss thing too, was doing about 1 hour 20 of cario and found out that you need to split it about 70/30 70 being cardio and 30 being muscular, because muscle work outs burn calories and turn fat in to muscle, not that I'm an expert, my personal trainer, Adolf, is however.

Good luck Chubbmeister and keep on trucking!

Adolf?!?! Is that his real name or one you've assigned him?

Can I just say I was joking about the boob-thing! Unfortunately.

I usually do about 1 hour 20 mins as well. Once I did 40 minutes on the rowing machine! (not all at once though. I did 15 minutes, then did something else, then 10, then something else, then another 15).

I was put of doing muscular stuff because I was worried I'd end up bulking up, which would look quite odd on a 5ft 2 girl! But I think I'm gonna try doing more now.

Chubbster, I don't think his real name was adolf, it's just nice to give people pet names sometimes! You'd need to have pretty sadistic parents for that one!

You're not exactly going to bulk up over night, if you feel you're bulking up a bit too much you can always adjust the programme. If at any stage you do find yourself looking like Fatima Whitbread, don't go blaming me though!

the rowing machine is the daddy of all exercises..

you want to lose weight chubby then walk.. walk on the treadmill on an incline, walk to work walk at the weekend mile after mile after mile.. its the ideal way to burn fat, smashing it up on cardio is to intense to burn fat, you need to work at a lower intensity and a brisk walking pace is ideal,, not a stroll mind you neen to feel tired by the end of it, take in a few hills.. save your gyn pennies till you have reached the weight you want then go for fitness down the gym.. i woyuldnt worry about bulking up on weights it very hard for women to put muscle down, takes loads of work
