Calling The Game Off......

As the majority of the country has experienced some cold snowy weather over the last few days, and I have been reading various comments on here regarding the late calling-off of games, wouldn't it make sense for the various Leagues and County F.A.'s to have stand-by officials, resident to ground/grounds, who are NOT officating on the day, to make an early inspection, and advise if the game should go ahead or not...... ????????????????

 

Bl**dy ridiculous to await a Referee, travelling some 50 odd miles, just to get there 2 hours before, then decide,.. [color:"red"] "It's Orff !"

Smaller league teams are already strapped for cash, and expecting them and their supporters to travel, then find they've waisted their time and money, seems to me rather................ !

Well JR...it's lucky that our officials at HFC adopted a sensible and cautious approach to yesterday's debacle. We waited at the stadium until the news was confirmed - thus 3 coach loads were saved a wasted journey. Shame about the minibus lot who set off early, tho'. That's what happens when you want to get in the bar first!! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

We found out at 10.20am...a local referee was called in to "adjudicate" by all accounts.

 

Some of us might have cynically suggested that our opponents deliberately...oh, I won't say it!!!
