Semi-Final

Who do we want in the draw? I would like Hornchurch if they manage to beat Hednesford, both legs would be well supported and they would be the weaker of the teams left. Also to play the away leg first would be ideal but you can`t have everything, can you?

Can't see any easy teams in this draw....

 

I think if I had to decide on a team I think would give us less of a challenge, then I would say Hednesford or Telford, (again) if they can beat the favourites.

 

Definately don't want Aldershot, I can see them in the Final already, no matter who they get....Now I've said that though I bet we do draw the buggers and Mr. Adam Miller is wringing his hands!! <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Don't fancy Aldershot much over two legs.

 

Shrewsbury or Telford would be a great day out especially Shrewsbury (a pleasant day out by the river and drinking in one of the numerous pubs before the game, sounds fantastic)

 

Hornchurch, obviously a local derby would really draw the crowds in and would be an epic game but rather play them in the final.

Would be very interesting if Hornchurch got through and played Aldershot. George Borg against his old side, there's sure to be fireworks!!

I don't siuppose there's any chance that the FA will reinstate Farnborough instead of Aldershot is there - N0 - just a thought

Not the draw i wanted but having the 2nd leg at Park Lane gives us a great chance. Shrewsbury don`t seem to know a lot about us and Telford just want to get revenge for us beating them the last time, whichever team we end up playing i`m sure it will be close.

The good news is the all Essex final is still on, I hope that we will play Shrewsbury as they are still in the hunt for the play offs and that will be their number one priority.

Just looking at the fixtures we are running out of dates to play the two games which will be cancelled by the semi-finals. We will probably play one of the games the Tuesday before the semi-finals. There is a spare Tuesday free between the two Semi-final games but I doubt Jeff & Glenn will want a league game between the semi-finals.

Heaven knows how Hornchurch are going to cope I can see them getting into a situation we had 3 years ago.

Except Hornchurch won't be in the promotion hunt like we were. As far as the league is concerned the Championship is way beyond them, they might stand a chance of coming second, but I doubt it.

Re the two games to be re-arranged, I reckon one will be before the first leg of the Trophy semi-final and the other will be in the last week of the season (prior to the finale v Hornchurch - whose fixture pile-up will of course be resolved if they are knocked out by Hednesford). Hopefully we will have won the league by then - although viewers of a nervous disposition may prefer to wait until they see Canvey on the fixture list for next season's Conference !

Well I was half-right: Kettering game is on the Tuesday prior to the Hornchurch game. Harrow game is on the Thursday two days after Bognor away and two days before Ford away, so that's going to be a busy week.
