The black record? Do you mean vinyl?

Apparently cos McCartney didn't wear shoes crossing the zebra crossing or something, it wasn't him. Never quite got the logic of that one. Lots of people have been known not to wear shoes.

LOL!!!!!!!!!! That's it!!!!! Vinyl!!!!!!!!! Couldn't remember what they were called!!!!!

Well, I read the book and there is loads of stuff that relates to the rumour that the real Paul McCartney died, and the one that is now "acting" as Paul McCartney is an impostor!!!

Apparently he died just before the Beatles were becoming famous in a car crash. There are loads of clues to prove this on their album covers. Paul is always doing something different than the others!

On the Sergeant Pepper cover there are loads of clues, and the biggest of them all is on the drum! If you put a mirror across the middle, the reflection says the date he died!!!!

lol- He's also out of step with the other 3!

Must remember that conspiracy theories were very much in Americans' minds due to the Warren Report etc.. And...as it is reckoned by social historians, that the Beatles somehow "filled a void" after the Kennedy assas..it was not a gigantic leap for them to transpose these concerns onto their new heroes.

BUT...does anyone know if the Beatles played upon these "theories"? I haven't read any of the latest books on them, but the Beatles [esp Lennon] maintained that they didn't!

Hmmmm, as a Wings album "as a group" Venus & Mars is the best. A true "group" album and a '70's rock / pop classic. "Rock Show" (although some of the lyrics are cringe) a top song!!!

"Back To The Egg"...some good stuff on there but....nah, I can't get into it as a full Wings album.

Now for singles we're talking "Juniors Farm". Showed, at the time that Macca could rock with the best of 'em.

For John Lennon albums, well, it has to be the first and Imagine. Walls & Bridges is good but very flawed in my opinion. Some of John's writing is still not as it could be.

But hey, listen to me, it's like I'm a full fledged critic. All music is to be enjoyed and I could still find myself listening to "Sometime In New York" or "Dark Horse"....well, er...maybe not tonight....

Claire - are you saying you've read my "The Walrus Was Paul" book??

No wonder Helen didn't return it to me for about two years!!

Gazza - Wings' singles are, in the main, pretty flawless, I reckon. And despite what the 'cool press' say, Mull Of Kintyre is a fantastic song! Shame the majority of their album tracks were so bland.

Venus & Mars and Back To The Egg are the only two Wings albums I regularly return to, but as I said before, most of the other ones (Wildlife aside!) have 2 or 3 excellent tracks on them.

Both McCartney and Ram are beautifully simple albums, and remain amongst my favourite of the solo material.

I have a big gap when it comes to Harrison solo, so the release of a Box-Set is a god-send to me!

Only Lennon album I don't own is "Sometime..". From what I've heard, the £25 it costs to buy on double-CD can be better spent elsewhere at the moment!
