Walton coming up

Recommended Posts

A good 10-1 on those odds I reckon. Both Windsor and Lewes should top the 100 point mark, but if we can carry on the way we are playing at the moment, then there shouldn't be any reason why we can't win all 14.

Worthing, Windsor & Leatherhead will be our hardest three games now, the other eleven are all very winnable and playing as we are, I just can't see us dropping points to anyone and long may it continue.

Much as I'd like to see us take maximum points from our final 14 games, I think we're bound to drop points somewhere along the way, no matter how well we play. It would be a dream to win them all, and our current form suggests we certainly can do it, but I think we will probably win about 10 of them.

Let's not get carried away. This great run came out of nowhere following two terrible performances at Walton and Worthing and could potentially stop just as quickly.

Let's not put too much pressure on them by talking about not getting beaten because as soon as we think that far ahead we'll end up losing the next one. It's the old, take each game as it comes approach.

I agree with Ian, we should enjoy this run while it lasts but we should not be taking anything for granted, just out of coincidence i picked up a programme to read from last season and the league table was after 32 games and this is our record after 32 games last season

2002/2003 p32 w17 d8 l5 f64 a40 gd 24 pts 59

2003/2004 p32 w18 d4 l10 f70 a 42 gd 28 pts 58

all it takes is a couple of key players injured or suspended and we could lose a few of these games. You look back at key moments recently and one key moment was the last minute goal by Tony Boot against Hampton. Anyway lets keep up the fantastic support for the rest of the season and push the team to 3rd spot that Eddie and Co would like.

Ok, cautious approach it is then. It's just a pleasure to be watching them at the moment, not just because we are winning ( although that helps!! ) but we are playing some really good football. Apart from the first half v Lewes, when the wind was adding 10 yards to every pass, we have played some of the best football I have seen at this level.

Can't wait til Tuesday............

I should point out to you Mr Anon that the record you have given for 2002/2003 only includes 30 games and not 32. Add the results of the 31st and 32nd game from last season and Slough had two more wins under their belt and on 66 pts.

What a waste of my 2,000th post!
