"As for Danny Clarke, well I'm all for supporting players, but PLEASE can we let him go......preferably to Sawbo?"

"I thought that Clarke played ............... no I said that I wouldn't comment. It would make his weekend worse."

Let's get this clear - we scored five goals away from home, but didn't win - and you're blaming the forwards????

<img src="/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" />Don't you have to be in the top three to go up? you can't afford anymore cockups,what happened Saturday,just bad defending?not the weather the ref or my auntie Iris's fault? <img src="/images/graemlins/elephant.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/icon_band222.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/dancingman.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/rasta.gif" alt="" />

The craziest game I have seen for a long time. Town should have been 3 up before Brentwood scored their first, yet as soon as they did we fell apart. Don't know what happened for the first 20 minutes of the second half - we were outclassed and a worryingly number of our guys were wandering around with heads down. For me only Brotherton and Lee Smith got stuck in at 2-5 when the chips were down.

Ridout made a huge difference when he came on - why can't more of our midfield players just keep it simple like he does? We are a good team when we pass the ball around.

Clarkey will score soon and once he's got the first I think we will see the proverbial dam burst. Just hope it isn't too late.

People at Ilford were saying Clarke's overall game was poor when he was with us. Will never argue that he can score goals for fun at this level and create chances for himself, but as alot of you ET fans are saying yourselves now maybe not the same Danny Clarke of the last two seasons.

Personally i think the boy hand a stronger team around him those 2 seasons and he is suffering for it. Rudi Hall, James Bunn, Ronnie Watson, Dave Allen, Paul Turner, Martin St Hillaire, Jamie Morris etc. All quality players that are no longer with you for one reason or another and i don't think you've replaced them all with players of the same quality.

Steph is not blaming the forwards. He has pointing out that 5 goals were scored but one particular forward not only did not score, but missed a number of good chances. This particular player has not scored since returning to the club, and we have other forwards - some of whom are scoring when they do play - not selected to start. Now where is the logic in that? What is the point in keep saying oh, when he gets one he'll get more? We need goals now!

However, on the plus side, I was not at the game but it's great to hear that the lads battled back from 2-5 down. Let's give them credit for that. Also excellent news that Rids is back. We so need his calm influence in midfield, dinky little passes and leadership qulaities.

I have said so many times how much I agree that Brad B is far better in midfield, but I'm going to say it again. Brad B is far better in midfield. See, told you I would.

At the end of the day you just can't allow for nickynoc's Auntie Iris though.

Essexboy. Personally , I think we do miss Saint [and Matty] a great deal. The others in your list, I'm not so sure about. While on the other hand Cove and Smith are better team players, and Lee Digby is an excellent prospect as maybe is young Francis.

Daniel came very close on a number of occasions throughout the game on Saturday; on another day both he and Cove would have scored hat tricks and we'd have been close to double figures overall.

That's to take nothing away from Brentwood who exploited their chances far better than their league position suggests. If we'd have made more in the first half rather than try to play Daniel in too often the result may well have been different, though.
