in fact there is a warning somewhere about posting peoples names and fone numbers on these sites...what you may feel is right BJR is not always right for someone else....

I never intended for people to put their REAL names on here........and think anyone that did is very Naive.......Iwas on about the posters called Anonymous..........and are unregistered......maybe some people were just waiting to vent their spleen!

there are no anonymous posters on here....well...certainly HFC posters and general forum posters have to be registered...some clubs do allow anonymous posts but that sometimes makes it more fun....

Is it worth answering the original question seriously, as I was perhaps the cause of it?!

 

I don't mind being abused by someone anomymous. At a small club like ours we don't have enough people to keep the forum sustainable without anomymous posts.

 

As moderator of the forum I could ban it, but not really in the interests of the forum I don't think. All we can do is try to encourage the anomymous posters to be brave enough to say who they are. (which they haven't so far!).

 

I thank FleetUSA, Big JR and Maladroit for their support nonetheless.

well I dont agree....which is my opinion....if I had to register my real name I would not go on these forums....

 

and those that know me also know that I have nothiong to hide.....in fact I'm probably more high profile than most.....I just want to enjoy the luxury of being my alter ego/s on here.....

Nobody will ever have to post their real names - this is not a business type forum.

 

I am also not too worried whether forums are open to anonymous posters or not.

 

HOWEVER - anyone who is anonymous will not get the better navigation, nor will then benefit from other member benefits. That is their choice.

 

Anyone registering can remain anonymous, by hiding their email address, and using a handle.

 

I know who most of the people are here - and do not give a monkey's as to what they are called. I am not known as Ian_W on all forums, some I use another handle - which was my old CB handle - so call yourselves whatever you like.
