On a cold and wet evening this game surprisingly went ahead although the pitch looked extremely wet in places.

 

We fielded a fairly strong side and were perhaps unfortunate to only end up with a draw. We took the lead in the first half through John Bradley who forced the ball over the line despite a last gasp clearance attempt from a defender.

 

In the second half we had most of the possession and kept the Dagenham defence busy. We had penalty claims turned down after John Keeling looked to have had his heels clipped from behind with 10 minutes to go but in the dying minutes Dagenham's Chris Tedder shot into the roof of the net after Dave McCartney failed to hold a firm free kick. In stoppage time Dagenham keeper Abioyun Buruwa saved well from a long range shot from Terry Everett and Ryan Doyle headed just over from a John Keeling cross.

 

Line-up:- McCartney, Williams, McDowell, Southon (Doyle 65), Rowland, Williams, Bradley, Cowley, Panzu (Everett 75), Holland, Keeling. Subs not used:- Shepherd, White, Madden.
