Who ever predicted this would be a tough game was spot on! End to End stuff with the Abbey taking the better of the first half and went in 0-1 up.

 

Whitelock must have given the Manor Boys a boost pill during the break. The Manor came out second half and dominated proceedings. Some fabulous defending by the men in Green saved their blushes, then up stepped Asa Pamplin and hit the bar then the post and then Lee Whitelock missing a open goal opportunity with the keeper stranded on the floor just needed to pick his spot from 5 yards out instead hit the ball low and straight into the keeps arms!! I was beginning to think Oh well just not our day when with 10 minutes to go Grant Smith stepped up with a classic 25 yard bullet straight into the net.

 

Good support and banter between the good natured Abbey fans, well played boys you are truly a young class act for the future.

In total agreement MB, great game to watch, as both teams set out to entertain from the off. Thought Smithy had a stormer and made him MOM, bout time he repaid Whitelocks faith in him.Also thought the ref was top class today, but maybe it's time for the lino to call it a day, struggled to keep up with play, but give him his dew, he was consistant the whole game !!!!!

Yep - I would agree although I must admit that I came away a tad disappointed in not getting all three points.

 

Fairs, fair. We had the better of the first half but only managed to get one goal. You had the better of the second and we rode our luck somewhat.

 

Thanks for hospitality afterwards... top class.

i thought we should of gone in 3-1 up at ht. we missed two one on ones and various oter chances. but like abbeyman said we rode our luck a bit in the second half and over the whole game a draw was fair. a top class goal from manor although billy h's goal was also from the top draw.

 

bit dissapointed with the way we played especially second half andwehad at least 3of our better (probably our best player this season) not playing athough i know manor had at least 1 top player out in quinny.

 

there was quite a good crowd as well, well done manor all the best for the season.

Good luck to you Pinnacle 2 good sides both very young.Manor had no quinny no fola no midford and no jesper so thats why we have big squads but keep going and well done to you all at abbey.I thought your centre half the half carste boy was superb.

That was Wes Forde, he is improving all the time. Pinnacle...quite a good crowd.....there was about 10 people there!!!

 

Great banter between the two sides on and off the pitch. great game, hard fought with no aggro. how it should be. The lino...poor ole Brian Best....still we have to have them. At least League sec DW was there to witness it!
