SHAMEFUL MOMENTS IN POP HISTORY:

I owned the Rubettes first album 'Wear It's At', which came with a free cardboard cut-out beret type thing that could be worn. It was one of those Xmas presents from a gran that I just couldn't get rid of. In terms of valuable pop memoribilia it was worth nil so it had to go. Besides, it looked ridiculous next to my Sex Pistols album and I think I eventually used it for a frisbe and dumped it in the Lee.

You think that's bad. A Rubettes beret? I'm actually jealous! I only had 2 Rubettes singles, the preposterous Juke Box Jive and I Can Do It. Superb retro cobblers.

Mind you, I liked Sailor as well... <img src="/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

Nothing wrong with the Rubettes, sadly I bought some Paper Lace singles when I didn't know any better as well.

Cleggy, you really shouldn't have been let loose with that pick-axe 'cos you almost felled most of the working party with it, despite everyone giving you at least 10 feet clearance!.
