Moving up

For the statistically minded Merv and Canv

Current league table shows that we can fall no lower than 20th mathematically. With Aylesbury, Billericay and Braintree already gone, the latest addition is Northwood who can only reach 75 points.

One more win(Saturday?)and Kingstonian(77) and Hitchin(78) will have gone and Harrow(79), Heybridge(80),St.Albans(81) and Bedford(82) will be on the brink, thus moving us up to a minimum of 14th.

Watch out teams above, we're on the march. Even the ultra pesimistic Merv will have to admit victory sooner rather than later at this rate.

P.S. On my assumption that our rivals will continue to average 2 points per game, then Hornchurch and Grays will be our nearest challengers but can only total 86 points. Therefore 11 more points will win the title!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I think there is still some way to go - but looking at the forthcoming league fixtures, 4 of our next 5 games are at home (assuming no Trophy replay). The 4 include Carshalton and Grays, if we can get a decent points return from those 4 (and the intervening away game at Heybridge) then hopefully we can keep a decent gap at the top, especially if the teams behind get results like last night.

PS - Bognor away game (originally Feb 28) now rearranged for Tuesday Apr 20 at 1945

Thanks for trying to cheer me up fellas, but by my calculations we need to win 10 more games to give us at total of 106 points. From today's table (and assuming everyone else wins all their games) the closest anyone else can get is 105 points.

So 10 more wins from 16 games and the beers are on Ian [he asked me to say that].

Surely they can't ban Ian, if he turns up at Park Lane in his capacity as a photographer for Hornchurch!

If I can't get pi$$ed on my birthday, when can I? <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

uhmmmm... Every weekend from September through to May, 5 bank holidays, match days at Bridge Road, match days Park Lane, the birthdays of Merv, Matt, your wife, your children, your in-laws, your friends [8 at the last count], your enemies [8(to the power of 6) at the last count] and Jeff King's daughter's rabbit's birthday (plus all other pets in that household).

Now, let me see, have I forgotten any occasions when Ian might get pi$$ed?

I see the Bedford game has been moved forward a week to Feb 24th.

Including last night's match that is 4 home games in 11 days!!

also a shrewd move getting these league ganes in as early as possible.. now we seem to have a good chance of a trophy pop.. (no disrespect to the maids who have ripped thier way through)

if we can beat maid at home then a two leg semi eats up the fixture list later on.. we can either make the league safe or work some room for the trophy and some rest for the players before any long away days... either way, as ever, this saturdays home game needs to be won or at least not lost....

COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!
