I suspect he might thrash you too EFMTFTV, especially when you learn that he plays words like eld and sui! He even knew that oxi wasn't allowed but oxy was! He's done very well on learning the 3's, this is not to take anything away from his performances.

 

I;m currently demoralised by playing someone who has already had 3 7's against me Nuttier, Carnies, and inclose. He's also played vum and weta.

I still suspect you think I'm cheating with the three letter words, judging by the manner of your last post.

 

I have learnt a few of them, and I did know 'eld', but I do occasionally guess ('sui'), so it may be worth challenging sometimes.

 

Haven't been cheating. Anyway, I think it was probably my 'Quartz' which won it for me yesterday.

As for the subject of televised scrabble, there's far more excitement in it than chess, but its assumed that most people would be oput off by the fact that a board played by top players looks like itmight have been played in a foreign language!
