A reminder ...

..for those that will find the journey to Thurrock a pain in the ars@ on Tuesday that the Midweek Youth Team are at home on the same day and The Reserves are at home again on Wednesday v Brentwood.

 

Those who came on Saturday to see the Reserve game v Braintree Reserves I'm sure will agree that it was a tense and exciting 0 - 0 draw, probably a fair result overall.

 

Their more direct style of play caused problems from time to time and our movement and energy did likewise. Chances were few, both sides stiking the bar and City having a goal ruled out for pushing. The cause was not helped by injury during the warm up to Danny Cross and Jake Attwood finding out after 20 mins. that flu does prevent you running up and down the wing. In all 3 subs were in play after 50 minutes !!

 

Still, the overall feeling was of "disappointed but not downhearted" lets get on with the next game.

 

The way the fixtures have worked out means that following the end of this month we will only have 3 away games and 5 at home in The League. One of the away games is v Canvey, the only match against a side from the top half, also the Herts Intermediate Cup Semi away v Ware on March 6th and Braintree again in a re-arranged 4th round Combination Cup, date tbc. will ensure the run in to the end of the season could be very interesting.

 

Great support of late is ensuring that we are covering the costs of the side, please keep it up and lets see if we can cheer these lads on to a piece of silverware for the club at the end of the season.
