Forecast for the rest of the Season

With the race to finish in the top 6 this season so close i decided to have a look at which teams have the easiest and hardest run-ins for the remainder of the season

 

Realistically the first two positions have been filled, probably going to Windsor and Lewes but in what order is anybodies guess. So there are four more places up for grabs, and my reckoning eight teams are still in with a chance. Only 9 points separate 3rd to 10th place.

 

Windsor, Lewes, Dulwich, Hampton, Slough and Staines currently fill the top 6, with Worthing, Croydon A and Bromley still in with a good chance, Leatherhead are outsiders.

 

Going on the current league table i have split the teams into 4 sections.

 

[color:"red"]Red:Positions 1-7, obviously the hardest teams and the most likely to go up. [/color]

[color:"orange"]Orange:Positions 8-12,these teams still have an outside chance to go up and can cause an upset. [/color]

[color:"blue"]Blue:Positions 13-20, Teams that cant go up or down. [/color]

[color:"green"]Positions 21-24, Relegation battlers [/color]

 

Example - Windsor: [color:"red"]3 [/color] [color:"orange"]3 [/color] [color:"blue"]6 [/color] [color:"green"]3. [/color] So Windsor have to play 3 teams in the red zone, 3 in the orange, 6 in the blue and 3 in the green.

 

Lewes: [color:"red"]5 [/color] [color:"orange"]4 [/color] [color:"blue"] 5[/color] [color:"green"]1 [/color]

 

Dulwich: [color:"red"]3 [/color] [color:"orange"] 4 [/color] [color:"blue"]6 [/color] [color:"green"]2 [/color]

 

Hampton: [color:"red"] 5 [/color] [color:"orange"]4 [/color] [color:"blue"] 4 [/color] [color:"green"] 3 [/color]

 

Slough [color:"red"]4 [/color] [color:"orange"]3 [/color] [color:"blue"] 5 [/color] [color:"green"] 4 [/color]

 

Staines: [color:"red"] 2 [/color] [color:"orange"]5 [/color] [color:"blue"]8 [/color] [color:"green"] 1 [/color]

Croydon A: [color:"red"]7 [/color] [color:"orange"] 2 [/color] [color:"blue"] 5 [/color] [color:"green"] 2 [/color]

 

Bromley: [color:"red"]5 [/color] [color:"orange"] 5 [/color] [color:"blue"] 5 [/color] [color:"green"] 3 [/color]

 

Leatherhead: [color:"red"] 6 [/color] [color:"orange"] 2 [/color] [color:"blue"] 3 [/color] [color:"green"] 3 [/color]

 

Croydon Athletic look to have the hardest task with the majority of their matches against top 7 teams, Leatherhead are in a similar position. Staines have already played the majority of their 'tough' matches and look to have the best run-in. And we seem to be in the middle, a few toughies mixed in with games we should win comfortably.

 

Looks like we are in for an exciting final part of the season. My prediction would have to be -

 

Windsor

Lewes

Dulwich

Hampton

Worthing

Slough

---------

Staines

---------

Croydon A

Bromley

Leatherhead

 

What does everything else think?

well i'll break it down a bit further:

 

 

Must wins: Met Police, Casuals, Egham (twice), Croydon, Molesey

Should wins: Bracknell, Walton, Leatherhead, Whyteleafe

Need To Wins: Dulwich, Croydon Athletic, Worthing, Banstead

Wild Cards: Lewes, Windsor & Eton

 

obviously the must wins are games against the weaker sides in the division, should wins against the mid-tablers, need tos are in the top 8 and wild cards, who knows, but from these games I would think the minimum require points is between 28 and 38 points to give us 80-90 points. We've already lost 10 games this season and we can only afford to lose two or three maximum from here on out. let's hope this current form and spirit in the squad carries us into the top 6
