A BUMPER YEAR FOR THE RYMAN LEAGUE

OK, I know that you're doing it for your own glory and this isn't in any way trying to bask in your reflected glory but...

The chances for a Ryman League Trophy final are getting shorter with both Hornchurch and Canvey (ok, they have a replay but it is at home...) still in the running.

With the "new boys" Hornchurch showing their "quality" to mix it with the Conference teams and coming up trumps and Canvey, a proven quality side this season in anyone's book (sorry Urchins, but they are, in my opinion), the Trophy is looking like a Ryman battle royal between the quiet confiedence of Canvey and the gamesmanship and "loud" and passionate support of the Urchins. I say, lets hope it goes all the way to the final. I for one will book a ticket for that one!!!

Put that together with the inevitable fixture jam both teams possibly may experience (Canvey with their Trophy reply and Hornchurch with games in hand in the league), this season is still there to play for.

Anyone wanna call it?

I wonder what odds you would have got on Maidenhead winning the Trophy at the start of the season? Surely they can't carry on this run!

1: You're not the only one to look at Canv with admiration this season. They deserve it, without a doubt.

2: Let's hope the venue is changed to Upton Park if HFC & CIFC are the finalists!!!!

Problem is, it hurt to call the Pikies a "quality side"...

And they would love the final to be played as close to the Island as possible...less to lash out on the costs to drive their caravans.

Would rather the match was played at Upton Park. A sea of Yellow shirts walking down the Barking Road and Green Steet. Drinking in The Boleyn or The Central before the game. Would be amazing.
