Tough game today, the Manor boys dug deep and had the better of the 2nd half. Ilford looked lively and were strong opposition. Shame about Asa's goal, the ref pointed to the centre circle, then was called over by the lino who convinced the ref to change his mind!! Great display by Lee Whitelock and Lewis Passfield both showed real class in midfield. We now look forward to the Abbey on Saturday and welcome back 3 key players in the squad.

Your probably awaiting a reply from Foxy, but late on Valentines evening has probably got better things to do than use this forum, all you fraggles clearly on your own last night, how suprising.

 

Expected a tough game against Manor and got it we missed a couple of good chances ourselves and believe the Manor goal was disallowed for a handball. Would have loved 3 points yesterday, but i'm sure the Manor will upset a few more teams on their way. Good luck Manor.

Far from touchy. Is a draw against Eton Manor really the worst result in the world? I believe these are games that if you are to win the title you need to win, but we haven't and are still in with a shout for the title.

Just really responding to Billy boy who also claims to be a Hornchurch fan on their forum and there's him going on about Ilford and money. I wonder why a Hornchurch fan so bothered about Ilford and the ESL, please enlighten me billy. Do you have any previous links to Ilford or the ESL?

Essex Boy, i know billy very well, he's a top bloke, and very knowledgable about the non league set up. I think he likes it when for so long a team like Eton Manor finally looks to have come good without the aid of mega money. As for the Hornchurch connection, he just happened to pass on a few of his youth team players a couple of years ago when his side split up, and has supported them since then. He's a real east end bloke and takes people at face value, that's why he gets on so well with the Manor people, and has for the tissues on valentines night, that made me laugh, he's got a wife and family that someone like you could only dream about. If you knew anything about the recent Manor side it should have come to your attention that the majority of them were cast aside by Ilford, so they could spend, spend, spend, good luck to you, but in all the years i've been involved in football, respect and loyalty do a pretty good job, along with not making false promises. Still, got to go, had my say, there's a good film on the tele, and i've just run out of tissues !!!!!!

bit predictable billy. i would ask the wife but that would mean pulling your missus of my lap and she don't wanna leave. (just banter) ain't got a problem with you billy i just wanted to know where the hostility for Ilford comes from. Lets face it they're hardly in your face about things.

 

Ilford have two people posting their views on this forum. Myself and foxy and neither sing from the rooftops what Ilford are going to do. We just hope we do get promotion.

Sry I couldn't get on here over the weekend....domestic probs...all stems from going to watch the boys on saturday..!

The better half thought I should have taken her out...yeah right..! lol

 

Anyway...back to football....

 

WELL DONE THE MANOR....!

 

Total respect for the club and their band of merry men....especially Reg Curtis.....lovely man..!

Manor deserved their point......we had an off day but all credit to the Manor...they made us play to their strengths....no football played....no real chances....Asa's disallowed goal was correct as our keeper had both hands on the ball.....I have seen them given but the Keeper clearly had hold of the ball....

Very good display by both defences.....we had a couple of good headed chances in the first half...but that was it...

0-0 was a fair result.....

Very impressed by Manors effort.....please apply the same attitude in your games against Concord...

Foxy ..... i thoughtit was a definite goal the referee was closer and he gave it ...as for ilford they seemed to be very wound up...didnt think much of the keeper or the new signing from ford....also very slow at the back <img src="/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

Well I can see from reports that the linesman disallowed the goal for handball although speaking to him briefly in the bar afterwards he said that Asa had kicked the ball out of his hands....????

I agree with you about the new keeper.....thought he could have done better at times.....but he is a youngster and new to the club....he has been excellent in prevous games...

Slow at the back...maybe.....but you didn't cause alot of problems....

I thought the game was won in midfield by the Manor....not many teams can say they have got the better of our midfield but your fella's certainly did...

Yeah agree Foxy midfield was won but it was the manors cup final reckon that could be your hardest game of the run in ....just dont understand why your players didnt just play football ...they got too involved in other issues...top of the table sides should expect this <img src="/images/graemlins/dancingman.gif" alt="" />

Absolutely agree LBTF....

As ETFC have found teams at the top MUST expect every other team to play like its cup final.....

I think we have to give Manor credit because they didn't let us play......some hard and late challenges went unpunished by the referee...who I thought was padantic (spelling ?) and at times easily influenced.

Your midfielder Whitelock had an excellent game braking up our attacks but he should have been booked in the first minute for a very late challenge then off when he received his first yellow later on in the half.

Dont get me wrong....he had a very good game but he shouldn't have been on the pitch in the second half.

The ref set the tone before a ball was kicked when he called both teams in after going out for the start to check for jewellary then apparently didn't even check the lads...!

I think they have been two good games this season shows the manor have come a very long way with the squad the manager had and bringing in some of the players who never really got a chance at ilford for one reason or another ....and for you i think the title shud be yours only you can lose it <img src="/images/graemlins/rockon.gif" alt="" />
