Nicest birthday present Matt could have would be a message, from anyone on the Canvey board - Ray, Jeff, Keith, Frances - saying something along the lines of, 'Come back Matt, all is now forgiven.' Would make his day.

 

A lifetime ban for doing no more than speaking out of turn still seems over the top, especially considering Matt's contribution to the canveyfc website which did so much in publisising the club and raising the profile over five years.

 

Takes a big man to ban a loyal supporter from the terraces, takes an even bigger one to say, "Come back." Bigger perhaps than even Ray Cross?
