Super Wilko

BFR

Recommended Posts

Given that Darren Wilkinson has come in for criticism by certain people on this forum in recent weeks, I was wondering if their opinion has changed after his outstanding performance at Bromley.

As I've stated on another thread, he along with Daly and Hodgey were terrific in a very hard working and meritable team outing.

Can anybody really believe he does not deserve to be in the starting line up?

BFR, who on earth are you referring to? In response to this seemingly endless Wilko argument, it has to be said that his performance last night was superb although in my match report, which should be on the website soon, I have awarded the team a joint accolade. I agree with Alcove Man's comments that I would love to see Metcalfe back, however, if looking at the two combative midfielders we currently have (Wilko and Hyatt) I would have to disagree with you Cousin M, as I would play Wilko ahead of Hyatt as, from what I've seen, Freddie is not fit enough to play 90 minutes every week. The plain fact is that opinions will always differ among supporters (note - Foster/Spencer/Boot) and these forums are a jolly good way of arguing about it.

Bloody hell! You cant post anything on this forum now, it is becoming crap!

The only people posting on here are BFR, Dom, Nathan, Gary, Matt(Not me) and Radders, who reply to nearly every post (Except Radders mainly) and act like they are the only supporters of the club. Wake up guys, look around the ground and realise that some of the 300 odd people will have different opinions than yourself wether you like it or not. That is the whole point of a forum. If everyone thought the same then the world would be boring!

Rant over - Hyatt would be fitter when playing every week, as we saw few months back. I dont dislike Wilkinson, i just dont see why this man is so super. I will be the first to say well done if i feel he is doing well, same as Foster (Believe it or not).

But from the games i have seen this season, and that is quite a few, i haven't seen this greatness.

Sorry everyone - but people have different opinions - And some of these people have watched football for many more years and at different standards and can read games and see the differences.

Why dont you just call this thread:

Slag ging off Matt after Wilko's decent week?

And BTW, you will be the first to say well done to Foster if he does well (believe it or not). I don't believe it. See you at the weekend Cousin M.

I've got a quiz!

Q1 Who is Darron Wilkinson's biggest fan?

Answers on a postcard to the usual address.

To be fair Matt, your point does make sense, and as I mentioned before there are always going to be differences in opinion. This has been the same for years, remember Danny Bailey for example. The only reason I'm posting endless and boring posts is that I'm at home, waiting to babysit my brother for 5 hours and I can't find anything better to do. Sad, I know, but please humour me.

Im not turning against anyone, Gary and myself are good friends, but people who i mentioned in my first post on this thread must realise that we are all entitled to our opinion and that there will always be differences in opinions.

What get me is the way in which some people feel necessary to reply to every thread, even if it doesn't affect them, and then write a load of waffle that doesn't make sence.

From reading these posts i feel that these people think they are higher up in the club than myself, possibly they are and good luck to them, but just because i am not a trust member yet, dont attend all away games, dont stand behind the goal and have a different opinion than them doesn't make me any less of a fan, does it?

I always have the last word cos I've got an opinion about everything at the club - good or bad! That should please Roger!

Whilst opinions differ on Wilko, Foster, Spencer & Boot, everyone is entitled to their say whether it upsets the club or not. In the past I have received some words about what should and shouldn't appear on this forum, but I will stand by the fact that unless something is personally offensive to another forum poster or player, then it will almost always stay on here.

It would appear that people have stronger views about Wilko than other players. His role within the side is one that often goes unnoticed and unrewarded yet is essential to the side. The sort of player he is is essential to any side, one who will put the boot into the opposition, and it's certainly not something Freddie could do for a 90 minute spell, he is much more of a creative player. That said, I would still prefer Metcalf in the holding midfield role as I feel he can do more from midfield with the ball and also run around and make the tackles which count.

Again though Gary, you are trying to turn your opinion into the fact, which people dont feel is correct. This is happening whenever anyone says anything that you dont agree with. Forums are for discussion and conclusions aren't needed most of the time, especially in threads like these. Your having that 'last word' again that was mentioned earlier
