Whats going on at ETFC...?

Just looking back at your home ESL fixtures and the last time you won at home was against Brentwood on the 4th October 2003 !

Admittedly you have only played about half a dozen games at home since then but even still.....

You are meant to be the champions....

Wheres the pride...?

I'm not digging the supporters out....You know I wouldn't do that..I think you give your team fantastic support but the players and management need to look at themselves !

Never thought I'd be replying to my own post....!

Come on Steph...LS.....Cleggy...Mr Happy etc etc...

I'm not trying to wind you up....

Honestly....

As a question what happens if your current form continues to the end of the season....?

Will you the supporters want a change of manager ?

Foxy, the lack of replies is probably because we can't figure out the answer to your question! Personally I'm at a loss at to our loss of form. Much of it is quite simply because we have played teams that are as good as or better than us, no other excuses acceptable or needed. This is why we have drawn a large number of games. This league is getting stronger every year.

Our team also lacks balance, among other things which you will see debated on other threads.

No I don't think we'll be looking for a change of management.

Only my opinion!

I don't think that other teams have got that much stronger, apart from ETFC's participation giving the league a shot-in-the arm.

The fact is we have lost scores of talented players in the past few seasons.(disagreements/retirments..etc).

Also tacticlly we have got it wrong a lot more than usual, and the players general attitude is not as spot-on as it normally is.

The supporters have great ambitions and drive to push this club forward...If some of the current players don't share that committment, then they can bugger off.

No change, for me. I think JC and his team are doing a great job; to go from nowhere to champions in 2 years, and to still be in with a shout this season(a quiet shout) is a briliant record.

Think, like all of us, they have things to learn.

I think it is down to the players; give it two more games, if we don't win them both; then make wholesale changes in the squad, readiness for next season. Could do worse than take a leave out of Abbey's book and go for youth.

Yep, I second that, ST.

LS, it's true that Concord were strong two seasons ago, they went 20 odd games without defeat or something, and have continued that sort of form.

Sawbo have improved greatly, as have Ilford and Romford. Eton Manor must be the biggest improvers of the lot though.

We can no longer expect to push over any team in this league, maybe with the exception of Hullbridge. APSA wil get it together before long as well.

Just a couple of reasons to add:

1) I don't think clarke should have returned. We were playing well up front but things have soured since he returned. It's speculation I know, but has his return p***** some of the newer players off? He isn't up for it at the moment although in his defence some of the servie is poor. however, Danny big achiles heel has always been his attitude.

2) The state of the pitch does not suit our style of play. Because of the lack of care in last year's heat wave we are playing on an awful surface that prohibits good ball control. Town are not a hoofing side and since the weather got bad, so have our chances on goal and results.

I don't think there was anything that could have physically down to improve the pitch. The water supply to the pitch is poor and then on the other hand the drainage is crap. We probably need 3 -4 years to create a decent playing surface; and as that is not a requirement for Rymnan B, your groundmen have been concetrating (or concretin) on other things.

anyway HAPPY, u miserable tart, are you coming down tonight, for a half time half pint, and thereby avoiding paying to get in!!!

Clarkey's return coincided with Negus,Allen, and Ridout dissapeared from the team sheet.

So i don't feel all the blame can for be laid on his shoulders.

I'm not putting all the blame on Clarkey. I just made two valid points. Unfortunately, there are other problems that need solving before things improve.

In response to ST. I know there is nothing we can do about the pitch. I am just making a valid comment that no one else seems to have mentioned.

Going back to the original topic.

Can we stop playing with those Yellow match balls, they seem to have a mind of their own.

I've noticed recently that play (from both teams) seems to improve when the 2 yellow balls are kicked out of the ground and replaced by one of the white balls.

Is it a coincidence that Abbey scord with the 'white' ball on tuesday.???

2 things

1) HAPPY glad you saw sense and joined the merry thong oops throng behind the goal last night

2) LS - sort your balls out! Andy is bemoaning the lack of stewards, you could always join Beardsley and run around after loose balls, and then decide to throw back the one YOU like!!
