Record crowd at Reserve game!

A massive 123 saw the Ressies win 6-0 tonight, emptying the pubs of Lemsford.

It was a fairly even first half, Lemsford had a shot come back off the bar but that man Atkinson delivered the killer blow just before half time with a powerful shot from a tight angle that beat the keeper at his near post.

Five minutes into the second half, a corner was headed into his own net by a Lemsford player, after that there was only going to be one winner.

Atkinson notched his hat-trick with two more clinical strikes and a handball gave Amadue Riley the chance to bury one in the corner from the penalty spot.

Adam Smith made it six in the dying minutes to send the ressies through to the semi-final, a well deserved and stylish victory.

Got to agree JKIF. This was just great to watch. Eleven players playing together as a team and playing for each other with no aerial football all game. Somebody has got it very right with these lads.

Get yourself down to the Park this Saturday and take a look. You won't be disappointed.

Another product of City Youth. Rather apt nickname ? Currently playing for the Under 18's on Sunday's and the midweek team. Unfortunately works on Saturdays but that could be about to change !

A good victory last night and it's hard to be critical following a 6-0 win in a quarter final but there were times when the wrong choices were made, putting ourselves under unnecessary pressure. I would say that this was not one of our better performances but still enough positive points to be rightly proud of.

Will need better concentration on Saturday as Braintree were a fair side when we played them a few weeks ago and we would be punished if we make too many mistakes at that level. The make up of the team could also be subject to major change depending on injuries and availability of first team squad.

Still, glad we brightened a few lives for a short while. Your support, enthusiasm and kind comments are greatly appreciated. See you all on Saturday.

Keep the faith <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

indeed valid points

one thing that did impress me in the 1st half besides the way we play the ball on the floor

1st half

was 2 , yes 2 not 1 (even if your lucky, watching the 1st team) going for a lost cause on the keeper... ATTITUDE...

as for Bullet, lets have a collection for his Saturday pay...

Good point.

Yes, the attitude is spot on, all for one etc. These are a great bunch of "young men", (the emphasis on young) who are well managed / coached by HKS and VJ. Credit to all ....

Pulling two threads together re "Youth", last nights team / age

Taylor 19

Attwood 19

Jones 18

Riley 22

Malham 19

Lawal 21

Smith J 19

Cross 18

Collins 19

Atkinson 18

Smith A 18

Hull 20

Parratt 19

Parkinson (Bullet) 17

Blythe 18

Average age - 18.9333 (Christ, better loose a couple of the old gits !!)

Deacon (20) has a problem (extent not yet known) so this should not be the subject of discussion on this site. Best kept private until confirmed.

Seeby (19) was out injured for a while, played a couple of first team games but obviously the powers that be felt he was a little off the pace, hence a blow with the reserves. Back last night with first team but not used, will certainly "feature" again soon.

10 of the above named players have progressed through City Youth and the Midweek Team that plays at CP. Not a bad return I say. Perhaps one or two of you would be interested in a visit to see whats on offer for the future ?
